hi. Well, there's that word, accessible again. I would say the
only real issue is with the media library. So if you don't plan on
making use of it a lot, you should be fine. A more screenreader
friendly version can be gotten from
  http://www.toonhead-online.com/winamp513_full.exe

However when you install it, as I've said many times already on this
subject but I'll say it again, when installing Winamp, make sure that
the modern skin support is not! checked. By default, everything is
turned on. So when installing it, arrow down the list of options and
uncheck modern skin support. You'll know it's unchecked for sure
when you get to the skin selection part of the instalation. Make
sure that the radio button for classic skin for slower machines and
greater accessibility is checked. If it isn't, you know modern skin
support is still checked, so you'll need to go back and uncheck it.
Otherwise, you'll have nothing but trouble with it. If you have a
version of JAWS after 4.51, press insert plus h for specific hotkeys
for the window you're in, or insert plus w gives you hotkeys for all
  Winamp windows.

  Hope this helps.

Re: DVD Audio Extractor.

2006-04-17 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Brian. The messages Tim has written on this subject are correct and
based on actual facts. I only had suggested AnyDVD in conjunction with
DVD Shrink because of newer DVD releases. Eventually like Tim has stated
programs even like AnyDVD will not work. I too have mainly use DVD
Shrink but newer and newer movies are not able to get decrypted by DVD
Shrink. I can definitely understand why this program has not been
updated since 2004. If all you will be copying are older movies, then go
for it, keep using DVD Shrink. Just don't dep[end on it with newer
movies. As time passes fewer and fewer will work.

My comments are made about DVD decryption in general and if you need to
research this there is lots of information out there. Note that the last
update to dvdshrink was in July of 2004, and if you want to see why do a
search on 321 Studios and read about the judgment handed down by a
California court that prohibits people from selling or developing software
with built-in DVD extractors in the U.S.

You can download a free Skype tutorial prepared by Sarah Alawami from

some general information in the tutorial that might be useful to
users of other screen readers. There are a large number of links on

Nektarios,

Apparently, there are no new voice files for the latest daily builds of
Rockbox, at least none that can be downloaded. My English voice file is
dated September 28, 2005. After finding out that it didn't work with the
latest build, I looked back through the older builds at the Change Logs. I
found out that they started adding commands to the Language files on March
22. These commands and some they added later caused the April 7 build not
to work at all with speech and the March 31 build to start speaking the
entire voice file each time I brought up the menus. I dropped back to the
March 21 build, and it works fine.

If they plan to release Rockbox 3.0 on May 1, somebody is going to have to
get busy and create some new voice files.

Yep, 5.13, until Nullsoft can fix the library, or until someone, with

It's not an ad. It's a windows Pop Up you can enable or disable
yourself. Simply look under general preferences and uncheck the
look for updates at winamp startup. That will stop the pop-ups.

Hi,
The funny thing is I do only copy new releases, and I have great succes doing

But you're right. Sooner or later their copy protection coding skeams will
interfeer too much with dvd shrink's way of doing things.

Tim Grady said the following on Fri, Apr 14, 2006 at 07:09:33AM -0400:
I haven't used it for at least a year now, so try some of the newer movies.

Re: Winamp

2006-04-17 Thread Chris Skarstad
hi. Press alt plus l and it should show the library in a separate
window. By the way, if you have Winamp 5.12, you should upgrade to
version 5.13 immediately, because 5.12 has a major security flaw.
Somehow, Nullsoft missed it and released version 5.13 to fix it.

Sane keystrokes and everything else applies, the only fix in 5.13 was
the security flaw.

Re: Installing rockbox on iriver h140.

2006-04-17 Thread Gary King
Jim,

I can adjust bass and treble from the Sound Menu. If the Equalizer is a
separate menu option, I'm not hearing it. There are 2 menu options in the
Sound Menu that do not speak with my version. There also seems to be 1 menu
option on the Main Menu that doesn't speak. I have not been able to do
anything with the radio presets either.

I am looking forward to the release of Rockbox 3.0. I hope they have the
voice file problem resolved by then.

to work at all with speech and the March 31 build to start speaking the
entire voice file each time I brought up the menus. I dropped back to
the
March 21 build, and it works fine.

If they plan to release Rockbox 3.0 on May 1, somebody is going to have
to
get busy and create some new voice files.

oh! so you guys are talking about the notification of new versions of
Winamp being available. Yes, this can be turned off in preferences.
It's not an add or even a popup, it's just a little dialogue box.
But yes it can be turned off in the general preferences.
I'm sure you can find it.

hi. Well, there's that word, accessible again. I would say the
only real issue is with the media library. So if you don't plan on
making use of it a lot, you should be fine. A more screenreader
friendly version can be gotten from
 http://www.toonhead-online.com/winamp513_full.exe

However when you install it, as I've said many times already on this
subject but I'll say it again, when installing Winamp,
 make sure that
the modern skin support is not! checked. By default, everything is
turned on. So when installing it, arrow down the list of
 options and
uncheck modern skin support.

 Jim,

I can adjust bass and treble from the Sound Menu. If the Equalizer is a
separate menu option, I'm not hearing it. There are 2 menu options in the
Sound Menu that do not speak with my version. There also seems to be 1
 menu
option on the Main Menu that doesn't speak. I have not been able to do
anything with the radio presets either.

I am looking forward to the release of Rockbox 3.0. I hope they have the
voice file problem resolved by then.

Apparently, there are no new voice files for the latest daily builds of
Rockbox, at least none that can be downloaded. My English voice file
