question about making a recording
I would like to know if there is a way to actually monitor something while it is being recorded? I use goldwave. I keep getting intermittent clicks during recording. I can't here them. Only when I play back the recording do I hear them. I've tried everything I know how: changing wires and lowering volume, for starters. Changing my sound card will be my last resort. I'm frustrated. Hi Trace and list: I last tried about 10 last night my time. I actually got the Email claiming the tracks were ready. I right clicked on the link and chose save as. Internet Explorer said the page was unavailable. The album is Long Time Comin by Shenandoah. I'll try again shortly because I've kept the Emails that claim the tracks are ready. I can try it from both those Emails and in the basket, but according to yesterday's experience, the results will be the same. That isn't to say that I haven't had some success with the site. I have, but when it comes to this album, it never works! I posted a question about this in their assistance section at one point and actually got a response back, claiming that it had been fixed, but my attempts to download the tracks after receiving that were no different than before. I purchased a registration for this program from the website, on Wednesday, with the understanding that my registration code would be sent in 2 working days. I had problems last week but its sort of ok now, i can download but its slow at times, i think they may still be upgrading and the site's busy. managed to get two feeder tracks and two meatloaf numbers down earlier with little problem. I put a couple of tracks on to a cd for a friend of mine, she's now signed up to allofmp3 herself as she was so impressed with what I'd shown her. I find my album, put it in the basket etc, go to my basket, go to downloading and download which tracks etc I want from there, as you say, its been slow a few times recently but if you can sit and wait for it to catch you up its fine. Sure, and isn't it legal to download files you have been given permission to download in the States? I'm in Canada and think it is. I just don't know what the RIAA is complaining about if the artists are being compensated. Maybe the truth will come out that it isn't the artists being hurt but the contract holders. You know the folks who keep the largest part of what profits are made from the sale of a bands music. I usually have no problem with allofmp3. Occasionally I'll have a track that doesn't download but fortunately because you are paying by the mega-byte the money isn't actually subtracted from your account until the track is downloaded. You can still use allofmp3 explorer. I think they're starting to push alltunes though. I find it horrible to use. I do have the set up files for allofmp3 explorer and I'd be happy to send them to you off list. Well, I gues the legality of allofmp3 is indeed a gray area. When you visit another country and buy goods there, are you not buying according to that country's law? I don't have ethical problems using allofmp3, especially since I know the recording industry here in the US gives so little to musicians. I don't know that allofmp3 does any worse, and may do better by musicians. I don't know that for sure. I do know that I don't generally share my files I've bought from allofmp3 except with an occasional friend when I want to let them hear a file, and I also still continue to buy CD's. I on the other hand order and use All Of MP3 all the time and have had no trouble with it. I order my tracks on the internet the old fashion way, then use their All Of MP3 download utility, (think it's called All Of MP3 explorer) to download my tracks I order. It is in my basket, but attempts to download any of the tracks fail. I get the page that says the item I've requested is unavailable. Try later. Their own help pages say I should order the tracks again if they won't download. Well, this isn't much of a solution for a paying customer to have to tolerate.
