On of them it will say
In tab
There is supposed to be a tab called mixer controler, but I can't find

Anyone else had this problem?

RE: Reel Player Pain

2006-07-26 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi Walter and list.

The problem you describe with CDs having multiple artists on them is a
problem with the database you're accessing, not Real Player. The artist
field in the database is for the entire album, and not for the individual
tracks on the CD. If whoever enters the info on the CD database is nice,
you'll get the title and artist showing up in the title field of the CD.
You'll also see various as the artist. As an example, suppose I have a CD
that contains more than one artist. One of the tracks is Alvin's Orchestra
by Alvin and the Chipmunks. You might see something like

03 Various - Alvin's Orchestra - Alvin and the Chipmunks.

You'll have to do some editing of the files, but it does work.

Believe it or not, there is a situation where Various is nice for the
artist, and that's where the person who entered the information in the CD
Database uses the artist of the first track as the artist name. Suppose I
have an oldies CD, and the first track is by the Beatles. The second is by
Alvin and the Chipmunks, and the third is by the Rolling Stones. This
situation would look something like the following:

01 The Beatles - Hey Jude
02 The Beatles - Alvin's Orchestra
03 The Beatles - Satisfaction

As you can see, this is confusing and to me I'd rather see Various as the
name of the artist.

Hope you find this helpful. If you have questions, let me know.

Kevin Minor

Re: Station playlist 4 and configuration

2006-07-26 Thread Ken Scott
Make sure you've checked the plugin you want, before trying to configure it.
Seems fairly obvious, but I can see where something like what you describe
might happen if you haven't actually selected a plugin. Having said that,
there seem to be other problems when trying to configure either the Tomass'
limiter or Sound Solution plugins (both from the same author), where you're
put into the configuration section with no problem, but there doesn't appear
to be any way to move around from option to option--you can't tab between
them like in the Winamp-based versions of Studio, and moving between them
with the mouse keys and clicking on them doesn't do the trick either. All
the other plugins appear to work just as they did before.

Hello, if this is the same USB turntable which plays 78s, then be aware that
it will not come with a separate needle to play them. Since the grooves are
a different width, you need a different stylus to play 78s than you do for
33s or 45s. Just so you know. If the software for cleaning up the sound
isn't accessible, then you could use DePopper, of which I did a review on

Hi Kathy,
There are two sliders in the Mix dialog that let you adjust the Source
volume (that being what's in the clipboard), and the Destination volume
(that being the file you're working in at the moment). Depending on where
the music is, just adjust it's volume slider with the Page Up and Page Down

what these do?
Thanks.

Reel Player Pain

2006-07-26 Thread Walter Ramage
Hi everyone.

I have a frustrating problem I hope someone can help me with. The
frustration is borne from my ignorance. I would be grateful if someone
would give me precise keystroke instructions to help me solve this. I have
the free version of Reel player. I think it is rep10. I also have Windows
media and I am using XP home edition plus JAWS 5. Now! Here is the problem.
When I rip a CD with Windows Media, despite having ticked all the relevant
boxes for track number, song title and artist name to be part of the file
name, Windows media sometimes doesn't provide the information. Sometimes it
will say for example, 01 Track1 & 02 Track 2 etc. However, if I rip that
disc in Reel player, Reel Player will invariably provide the track number
and song title but won't give the artist name. This isn't a problem with
single artist albums but it is with compilations. I have occasionally had a
dialogue box appear giving me the option to select song title and artist but
this is extremely infrequent and appears without warning and seems to apply
only to the disc that is being ripped. What I do get after the song title
instead of the artist name is "various". I have tried going to tools and
then going to CD information. Once there I select the option to overwrite
the CD information hoping that it will include the artist name but without
success. Again, would someone please give me precise instructions on how to
ensure that when I rip with Reel Player I get both song title and Artist
name as part of the file name. I am very grateful to all those who can
help. Walter.

2006-07-26 Thread André van Deventer
Hi Trace!

Think you and David's musical tastes would differ somewhat!! The album he
is downloading is some great traditional bluegraas stuff! Wil download a
specific track for him he seems to be having problems with.

A quick Sound Forge 6.0 question

2006-07-26 Thread Kathy Szinnyey
Hi, gang. I'm doing a project where I'm using the Voice-over feature to mix
music and a voice-over together. Is there any way to lower the volume of
the music just a tad? I'm just using that standard voice-over setting in
the mix menu. Thanks for any help!

Peace,
Kathy

Re: Allofmp3 registration

2006-07-26 Thread David Allen
Hi Andre and list:

When the tracks are still in my basket, and attempts to download are no
better today than yesterday, I've sent them Email to hopefully resolve it.
They may be cheap, but I'm still a paying customer, and I think they could
and should do better on delivery. At least their pages are easy enough to
understand and use, when they work as claimed. Doubt you're luck will be any
better, but I appreciate you trying.

Cheers,
Dave
