No problems, but a couple of pains.

In real player, you cannot control its volume independently. So
when you decrease real player's volume, you are also decreasing
your screen reader's volume unless you have a second sound card
or are using a hardware synthesizer.

Also, you cannot close Real Player with alt F4. You have to
select the close option from the file menue.

 Hi to all,
I am interested in subscribing to NFL Field Pass offered on
 NFL.com.
Before I do I wanted to make sure that everything about the
 service is
 accessible with a screen reader.
I have read that you use Real Player to listen to the games.
 Since I
have never used real player, is there any problems I should be
 aware of,
or anything I will not be able to access with a screen reader?
I am running Jaws 7.0 with windows XP home.
Any information or advice about the service anyone could give me
 would
 be appreciated!
 Thanks,
 Chris

Re: Easy CD-DA Extractor

2006-09-26 Thread Steve Matzura
I find all of this discussiion very interesting because for me, Easy
CDDA Extractor has always work right out of the box, as they say,
without any scripting or environment file creation of any kind. I'm
wondering if it's either a video card or color scheme issue. Make
sure your color are set to the Windows classic choice, not the XP
choice, and see if that has any affect.

a few of the program's functions, when you feel blocked from them by tedious
problems with navigation and such (not including your rip tracks issue, I'm
afraid), do try putting up the context menu, you know, that key to the left

I just installed version 10.0.2. I still can't get JAWS to track the PC

I re-install the ezcddax.JCF that was made available back in August, shortly
after the release of Easy CD-DA 10b. Has anyone ever gotten this
configuration file to do what it is supposed to?

For my purposes, though, I still find it easiest just to use version 9.1.3.
still, one day, I'm probably going to need some feature introduced in a
later version, and I'd hate not to have this problem resolved by then.

Re: Question about Bit Rates in Streaming

2006-09-26 Thread Steve Matzura
First obvious dum-dum question, do you have the upload bandwidth to
support a 128k stream of any kind? If your upload speed is rated at
exactly 128k, you may be bumping up against the maximum capacity of
your circuit, in which case these dropouts and rebuffers would be
quite expected. I've learned that, in Internet-land, when they quote
you a high number, it doesn't always mean you can sustain that high
number over a long period of time.

On Sat, 23 Sep 2006 18:13:33 -0700, you wrote:

Hello List!

I notice that, since I put my internet radio station streaming rate at
128kb/44, I have gotten some drop out when I play the station through my
internet link on my web site and my friend got the same thing. Sounds great,
but drops out for a short period of time.

When you hear or stream the station through my internet link, the music is
played in Real Player. I'm thinking that, maybe, I have Real Player's
connection rate too high. I have it set at DSL/Cable 256-750+ (different
times). The maximum is set the same. Should I chose 56.6kps, even though I
have a DSL connection? I think Real Player's choices go up to T1 or so.

Also, what should I have the setting for a 128k stream? I currently have the
Encoder set at 128k/44. stereo. Is this correct? If not, what should it be?

Any particular tricks you have up your sleeve to do this?

Any information or advice about the service anyone could give

Re: Software for Finding Dupe MP3 Files

2006-09-26 Thread Brent Harding
What about a program to look in a directory to find all the files that
aren't mp3? Of course it happens that if you open an mp3 in some editing
programs, it litters the directory with extra files I'll never need again,
but I want to get these out of there so when I choose the whole directory
with Winamp, it doesn't crash on the unplayable files.

Re: downloading music from Usenet news groups

2006-09-26 Thread Michael Lang
There are several ways to search for binary files on UseNet. NewsRover
is a fine program, which can do that. However one has to use certain
providers for it to work. Giganews is one example. They're great, but if
you use a provider, which isn't supported, you can't use NewsRover's
search feature. You could then use a web based engine. I like
www.ngindex.com. If you find something there, you cannot download it
from the site, but you can download an NZB file, which describes all the
parts of the file. One can then download the file via the NZB from any
provider with an NZB capable Usenet program.

Binary boy

2006-09-26 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Hello,

I guess my age is catching up with me as I am having problems
getting the hang of Binary Boy, version 1.96. It is apparent
that it is very accessible with a screen reader, and I had no
difficulty configuring it for my EasyNews account. I also did
not have difficulty downloading the master news group list.
However, I need some pointers regarding just what to do to search
and retrieve the headers from a specific news group. I suspect
that five minutes on the phone with an experienced user would get
me going.

Thanks much for feedback.

tell the program to grab all headers when you 1st search. By default, it
will only grab the last I think 300 or 2 headers or something like that.
if you want to talk to me on the phone, gimme your number, and I'll call
your landline with skype.

Subject: Binary boy

Re: downloading music from Usenet news groups

I heard Easynews is about the only one that's reliable. This downloading
stuff sounds like a different breed than something like Outlook Express
could deal with. I'm not sure what most ISP news servers have as far as

 Hi,

You can either use the older version of agent, or you can use binaryboy.
 I
like binaryboy for downloading, and the author is super nice, but if you
have the older version of agent, there's really no need to use anything
 else.

like so many things, it's all in what you like.

If anyone else on this list downloads music from Usenet news

Hi,

Don't know about a program but you can make a temp directory drop to
a command prompt then copy all .mp3s to the temp directory, delete
the original directory and rename the temp one.

You people are all missing the point. I want a program that will look
not only at filenames, but the tags as well, and determine if there
are any matches. For instance, I've got songs by the Crystals that
show up in Best of the Girl Groups collection and also their own
artist folder. Ditto for lots of other artists I could name right off
the bat. The filenames are drastically different, but the tags for
artist and title are identical. That's what I want this hypothetical
piece of code to do--find files either of the same name or of matching
MP3 tag fields.

 Try looking for
 Clonemaster.
It might do what you want, but I don't know if it's even available any
 longer.
