Treo 650 (A Palm Phone using Palm-OS)

2006-12-27 Thread JardataMailServicesBox
Hello List!

I checked with Cingular Wireless about the Treo 650 and they said they have no
info on speech software because it is a Palm thing and Palm won't give them any
info on it. I called Palm and they said they had no info either. I then
checked with the CodeFactory.es company via the net and they say they support
smart phones (palm versions). The Treo 650 doesn't use the Windows Mobile
Pocket OS yet I guess. Does anyone know of a seller of the CodeFactory cell
phone screen reader programs? I also heard of a program called Talks and Speak
(or something to the fact). Would some of the Nokia phone software work on the
Treo650?

I'm checking before I have to return the phone and get another one. Any
recommendations of a better and similar phone, with accessible software
available, would be appreciated.

Arnaud,

You can overwrite mistakes easily with the Plextalks. However, the
mistake isn't physically deleted. The correction is done via the DAISY
index file. If you'd like to restructure the audio files, so that all
mistakes are removed from them, you have to use the supplied Plextalk
Recording Software on a PC.

Re: Treo 650 (A Palm Phone using Palm-OS)

Hi,
There aren't any screenreaders for the Palm OS. The phone must run on
Pocket PC. There is a version of Talks for the Pocket PC OS as well as
the other phones.

Re: Another phone question

2006-12-27 Thread Brandon Hicks
Hi,
Check the lists of phones on both manufacturer's sites. They both have
complete lists of phones on there, I'm sure one from Sony was on both,
or one, but I don't remember the model.
If you google both Talks and Mobile Speak separately you'll find the
sites where you can get the list of supported phones.

Re: any takers

2006-12-27 Thread Brandon Hicks
Hi Joe,

If you press select while a track is playing, you go into the file
browser. From there, if you press and hold select, you are brought into
a file menu. The option that says bookmark is the one that will insert
a bookmark in the track.

This can be found in the manual.

That's absolutely right and please! don't bother wasting your time

Sound cards and 5.1

2006-12-27 Thread Brandon Hicks
Hi all,
Our family's about to get a home theater system. I'm wondering if it's
possible to tell your sound card to play 5.1 surround or if you have to
go out and find a sound card marked specifically for that?
Also, can 5.1 be transferred through standard RCA cable, the ones that
have the standard mini audio connection on one end then goes to two
plugs on the other, or again are special cables needed?

Thanks

What are the differences between the Slingbox devices?

Hi.

I received the Slingbox device for Christmas which allows you to watch your
television channels over the internet. I know there are three versions of
the Slingbox, but I don't know the differences between them. I know I
didn't get the Pro version, but I'd like to know the differences between it
and the other two. You can give me a web site to look this information up.
I tried going to http://slingbox.com and got a very cryptic page with
graphical links.

Thanks for the help.

Hi. I'm so conflicted. On the site itself, it will say it works with the
second generation anos, then somewhere, there's a warning that says if your
Ipod has a metal body it won't work, plus if you click on the latest version
for it, the page comes up as 404 not found. So if I'm doing something wrong
please let me know.
