Alan, you should be able to hit enter on the playlist file that
you've saved, and it'll start to play tracks in it.

Re: Article: Audio Menus for iPods

2007-05-17 Thread David Tanner
I would assume so, since I just got RockBox on my IPOD last week, and I see no
menu choice for Audible books. But, in I-Tunes there was a menu choice for
Audible. I would guess you could download Net Library books and read them with
RockBox, but I bet there will be a problem getting back to where you left off
last time. I doubt that there is any kind of way to place a bookmark for where
you left off.

winamp playlist question

2007-05-17 Thread Allen
Hi,

I am using Winamp 5.35 on Vista Home Premium. I've created a playlist, at
least Winamp said that 25 items were added to my test playlist name. I can see
the name of my playlist which is test, but when I select it and press enter,
the Window closes, and if I press x to play, it asks me for a file name.

How do I play files in my Test playlist? I also have Shuffle selected.

Thanks

RE: Software for reading mp3 books

2007-05-17 Thread Rick Alfaro
Bruce,

I have Jaws installed, but hardly ever use it. I suppose I could quickly
unload one screen reader and load the other, but would rather not have to do
that. I'd much rather find something that has this ability natively.
Surely, there has to be something out there that can do this... time for a
good Google search I think, but if anyone can think of one, I'd be most
grateful.

Subject: Multitracking in Audition

Hi All,
I thought nothing could be simpler, but when I sung my first track,
things started to go wrong. When I cam to play back, there was a huge
gap at the beginning. Then I recorded a second track, when I played
back, I could hear both, excellent. I added a third, but playing back I
heard nothing. What is the best way to set the track properties on each
track? I assume that arming a track for recording is the thing to do,
but do I need to set anything else. I'm using the audition scripts if
this helps.

Many thanks for any assistance,

Dave.

What are they, how do they differ, when would you want to use one or the

Subject: Multitracking in Audition

Hi All,
I thought nothing could be simpler, but when I sung my first track, things
started to go wrong. When I cam to play back, there was a huge gap at the
beginning. Then I recorded a second track, when I played back, I could hear
both, excellent. I added a third, but playing back I heard nothing. What is
the best way to set the track properties on each track? I assume that arming
a track for recording is the thing to do, but do I need to set anything
else. I'm using the audition scripts if this helps.

Many thanks for any assistance,

Dave.

And that's exactly what normalize should do: Increase the overall
volume. You seem to want to compress the audio. There are other tools to
do that. For Soundforge, there's the WaveHammer PlugIn, which does that.
Just look under PlugIns, I'm not sure, whether WaveHammer is installed
automatically.

Re: crashing and problems burning winammp with vista

2007-05-17 Thread David Bailes
Hi,

If you're familiar with winamp, it's probalby easier
to stay with this program. But if you want to try and
use Windows Media Player 11 there's a guide for jaws
users running under Windows XP at:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Windows-Media-Player-11-Guide.html

Most of the guide is not specific to Jaws, and WMP
probably runs in a similar way under vista. Alas I
don't have access either to vista or windows eyes to
check this out,

Hi, I'm new here. I have a question reguarding winamp

could someone tell me the

Hi,
If you can play them in Winamp then you can set an output plugin which will
write them to disk as .wav files and then convert them back to mp3.
There is also an .mp3 writing plugin for winamp which I have used this way

Hi all.

I've got a shed load of oridginal Nintendo and Sega game cartridge
soundtrack rips. From NES, SNES, Sega Master System.

I want to convert these to mp3. I can play them back fine in Windows with a
Winamp plugin. It would be very cool and geeky to be able to play them on
my mp3 player though.

Any thoughts as to what bit rate you'd use for something like this?

Winamp converts them fine, I just need advice on the bit rate that would be
best suited.

Thanks,
