Hi Hope I've got its name correct. Just been on there and can't seem to find where I'll find out how much each track costs, how I sign up and how I put money on to my balance etc. Also, how much of their music can actually be downloaded in mp3, rathe r than the other format who's name escapes me, can the other file format be played in windows media player ok? I think I've seen that format somewhere in the settings in there. Once registered when can I choose to download as mp3? Some basics of how to do everything from start to finish would be very useful. hi trace, just taken a look. try the following. 1 on the home page hit enter on sign in, and then enter on create new user account 2 performing search is done via the search field, which is on every page. enter artist or track, and tab to the conmo box to search by track etc. by default it will search by artist. the price is indicated in the search results. 3 when you place an item in your basket, and paid for it then it tells you which format is available. there is however a link entitled high quality MP3's, which lists albums available in MP3. 4 if the tracks are not MP3's, there will most likely be window media format. this can be played in windows media player, winamp etc. note however not all MP3 players will play protected WMA files, especially when running rock box. did I miss anything out? If so email me privately, and I shall expound further! Mobivox service answers
My opinion only again. Read the FAQs at Mobivox.com, one of you said it only works with a mobile phone. It works with both or either one: mobile and land line phone phones. You can call your Skype contacts for free. When you register with Mobivox you are asked if you have a Skype account. You fill this part out. If you want you can do the Skype registration after you have setup the Mobivox account. All the information is on the mobivox site. Read it. Finally do your homework. Just because someone on this list says its inaccessible it doesn't mean it is. Thank you. This is a fantastic service. You can also make web calls with this service. After you tell it the number you want to call, you are asked which number you are using to call that number. This is the web call service. It calls your mobile or land phone number then dials out the destination number you want to call. If so email me privately, and I shall expound further! I think I've seen that format somewhere in the settings in there. Once registered when can I choose to download as mp3? Some basics of how to do everything from start to finish would be very useful. Re: .MP3 or .Wav
High Jerry, I got a Sherwood 5 disc changer for my birthday for one of my vintage stereo systems. I put a cd that was full of mp three files in it, but it wouldn't play it. So I scanned the user manual in to Open Book to find out why it wouldn't play mp three cds, it has a list of types of cds that it will play. It will play cdrs and cdrws, but it says it won't play mp three cds. I guess you have to look closely for a hi fi cd player/changer that will play mp three cds as well as all of the others which is what I plan to do. My best regards to you all! - Original Message - From: Jerry Richer [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2007 7:53 AM Subject: Re: .MP3 or .Wav There are several levels of MP3. The larger the MP3 file is for a given Wave file, the better the audio quality. The largest file is the one that is not compressed at all and is the original Wave file. Now there are several levels of Wave files also but the Wave file quality is determined at recording time and once the recording is made the quality of the Wave file can not be changed. I can compress a given Wave file into any one of several levels of MP3. What level of MP3 I use depends on what sort of audio quality I want and how much room I have on my hard drive. I usually compress my music to 128 Kilo Bits per Second MP3. This shrinks a Wave file down to one tenth of its original size. With this level of compression, some people can hear the loss in audio quality and some can't. A CD quality Wave file plays at 1378 Kilo Bits per Second. I usually compress speech down to 32 Kilo Bits per Second MP3. This shrinks a Wave file down to one fortieth its original size. Music would sound bad at this level for most anyone but speech quality here is good enough for me. I think most CD players these days can play MP3 files as well as regular CDs. Mine does and I bought it four years ago. If I bought a new CD player today though I would still check to be sure that it would play MP3s. Jerry Chirp|Chirp|Chirp: It's the Bat, Chirping Bat .Com !
