Re: computer question

2007-08-01 Thread Michael Amaro
ok let me try this again. I go in to programs intertainment v for volume I
tab around and see nothing about microphone. As far as recording settings I
go in there and go to recording volume button press enter and see some thing
about line in. Rear microphone checkbox is not checked. Tab again and it
says microphone checkbox not checked I check it still when I try the
microphone nothing happens.

Re: another computer question

2007-08-01 Thread Doc
Since you have been in volume control was microphone checked? Have you
switched to the record section to see what setings are set there. Now, I
havn't tried using the microphone in from yet. I've been thinking of
reinstalling skype but since this is my editing computer I hesitate to place
such a program on it.

why don't you leave them pllugged into the jack that works? if this sound
card has surround sound capabilities then that last jack may be for rear

Station playlist questions

2007-08-01 Thread Sunshine
if you could please help i would very much appreciate it
Ok I am not sure what is happening but this is what I do
1. Alt E
2. RIght arrow one time and down arrow to where it says Insert Tracks
3. I enter there.
4. When I tab one time it sometimes says "Insert Files Button to enter press
space bar Alt F.
5. At times the Insert Files Button does not even show up.
6. When that happens I need to shift tab back once and up or down arrow then
tab to get the Insert Files Button.
7. When I do that I can insert the files but they will not play.
8. For some strange reason the Shift Insert does not work for me when I use
JAWS but it does work when using Window Eyes.

Is there some setting that I might have wrong? Does it make a difference if
I am using a Demo? The problem with the Insert Files button not being there
also happens at times when there is not a screen reader running and I ask
someone sighted to help and see if it is the screen reader.

also this happens when selecting the general spot as well

so can anyone help out with this strange behavor?
this is really beginning to stump me

High once again Michael,
You can use an off the shelf sound card like the ones made by Sound Blaster.
They just plug right in to one of the slots on the mother board.
All you have to do after that is lode in the software CD that came with it,
and you're all sat!
Try that and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for the tip, Doc,
I have an HP multi-media system at home so my soundcard is fine (I use
Dells at work).
BTW, I would not recommend HP PCs - they have a lot of extraneous add-ins
that cause a lot of problems with JAWS.

High Dan,
Did you take a peap inside the kace to see if you have slots on your mother
board for other cards?
If so, good news!
You don't have to used the intergrated sound card on your mother board.
You can buy and install a Sound Blaster sound card or any other sound card
and plug your speakers in to it!
You mite want to try that.
My best regards to you all!

I just checked my Dell Optiplex PC. If my memory is correct, there are 3
ports on most sound cards. jacks are color-coded to correspond to the speaker
cable color so it's not something you can figure out by feel.
However, on all my Dells in my computer room, the middle jack of the 3 is
the one that the speaker cable plugs into.

No, you may have missed my earlier posts. Allofmp3 and MP3Sparks a site by
allofmp3 were shut down by the Russian government at the behest of the US
government and the record industry RIAA. The World Trade Commission told
Russia that they might become a member if they shut down allofmp3 so they
are gone. I think if you have Alltunes on your computer, you can spend your
remaining balance, but that's it. Allofmp3 and mp3sparks which was nothing
but allofmp3 under a different name are gone.

So much for free enterprise here in the land of the free.

  Hi,
you can go into tools on the media player and move down to enhancements
submenu. if it's on your machine, select audio converter. Alternatively, you
can open start menu, all programs and select digital media enhancements from
that point, which should have the audio converter there.
If neither shows it, you can probably go to microsoft's website to search
for an add in. I'm not sure what operating system you're using, but I have
Media Center 2005 XP running wmp 11.

another way is to open file folder with music you'd like to convert and
choose convert from tools that way as well.

  Cornell

Re: Band in a Box

2007-08-01 Thread Jerry Richer
Band In A Box is an accompaniment program. You play your instrument
and Band In A Box fills out the rest of the band. It's been around for
fifteen years. Last I knew it had every kind of style of music you could
think of. You tell it what style you want, what instruments you want, the
tempo, chord changes and it plays along with you. It also had hundreds of
songs already set up but I think someone had a legal problem with this a few
years ago. It uses the instruments in your sound card or you can attach
other MIDI instruments to your computer and use those.
Regarding accessibility, I don't know. There have been a lot of
versions over the years. Someone on MIDI-MAG would know the current state
of accessibility. The manufacturer might even know. I do know that a lot
of blind people have used it.

I wonder if this program can also restart the Windows Audio service should
it somehow stop? That would probably be the only condition under which I'd
purchase this tool. Oh, and, also, I think it would have to be able to run
on a U3 Flash drive.

Re: Lossless

2007-08-01 Thread Cornell Ligon
Hi,
you can go into tools on the media player and move down to enhancements
submenu. if it's on your machine, select audio converter.

Best Regards,
Cornell

WHICH VERSION OF wmp? AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AUDIO CONVERTER, YOU CAN SELECT
THE FILES YOU WANT TO CONVERT; IN TOOLS SECTION, SELECT CONVERT FILES; A
WINDOW WILL THEN APPEAR AND YOU CAN TAB THROUGH TO SEECT THE CONVERSIONS
YOU
   WOULD LIKE TO MAKE.

   HTH
   Best Regards,
   Cornell

It's somewhat accessible. I have it here. It has lots of hot keys but
 as
far as composing yourself with it I'm not sure you can do that part of
 the
work yourself. It's somewhat mouse intensive but it is fun to play
 with.
