I think its slightly different, on free youtube to mp3 downloads the
video gets downloaded to your pc as a mp3, but the other 1 downloads it
as flv then you can choose to convert it.

I never tried free youtube to mp3 before but i think thats the case.

Hello Michael,

You can use the YouTube Downloader which downloads FLV then convert it
to mp3 or you can use Wavepad which will convert it.

If you need any help just contact me.

Re: Foobar, ripping and a problem

2011-04-06 Thread David Bailes
Hi Christopher,
I think you need a Flac encoder, which you can download from this page:
http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html
For windows, there's a choice of either an installer which puts the file
flac.exe in a flac folder in programs, or alternatively a zip file which
contains flac.exe which you put anywhere you want. The two direct links are:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.2.1b.exe
http://sourceforge.net/projects/flac/files/flac-win/flac-1.2.1-win/flac-1.2.1-win.zip/download

David.

scoured my drive and can't find it, nor can I find a .flac converter listed
in the installed components, nor in the installable components from the
site.  Foobar will in fact play .flac files just fine though, so I'm rather
confused.

How do I point Foobar to the .flac converter?

Foobar2000 only includes the FLAC decoder needed for playback of FLAC files.
To create FLAC files you need the FLAC encoder.
I've never used foobar2000 to rip and encode to FLAC but I guess it uses the
flac.exe command line encoder.
Download the FLAC encoder binary from:
http://flac.sf.net

There should be a binary for windows here and just unzip the flac.exe to the
foobar2000 directory etc.
Then point foobar2000 to the location where you put flac.exe.

Subject: Major Update to Winamp Scripts for Window-Eyes now Available

Version 3.5 of the Winamp Scripts for Window-Eyes are now available.
This is a major update and the changes are listed below:

Major enhancements to the Winamp Application Presets feature have been

made:
Added the new hotkey tied to the Grave Accent (`) key. This key allows

you

to then
press one of the preset keys to select a bank from 1 to 20. Pressing 1

through 0
will select banks 1 through 10 and Control-1 through Control-0 will

select

banks
11 through 20. It is now possible to define up to 400 presets.
The G key has been added to allow you to enter a preset number to

play.

The range
is from 1 to 400.
The Period and Comma hotkeys have been added. Press Period to jump to

the

next available
preset. Press Comma to jump to the prior preset that is available.
Press the slash key to hear the current preset number.
The Add Bookmark Preset functionality now accomidates the 400 possible

presets.
The Clear Winamp Preset hotkeys now conform to the new Preset Bank

logic

added in
this release. You can clear any bank of presets or all 400 presets.
The Bookmark Manager now supports the loading of all 400 presets if
defined.
Presets can be retrieved without needing a Winamp bookmark file.
Defining a preset is now disabled during the defining of the Preset

Bank

phase.
The Winamp Script Messages dialog has been corrected for older message

types so that
an error is not generated on launch of the dialog. Also, Advanced

messages

were not
loading into the treeview.
Message strings were corrected in the xml file.

RE: Foobar, ripping and a problem

2011-04-06 Thread Øyvind Lode - Forums
Foobar2000 only includes the FLAC decoder needed for playback of FLAC files.
To create FLAC files you need the FLAC encoder.
I've never used foobar2000 to rip and encode to FLAC but I guess it uses the
flac.exe command line encoder.
Download the FLAC encoder binary from:
http://flac.sf.net

There should be a binary for windows here and just unzip the flac.exe to the
foobar2000 directory etc.
Then point foobar2000 to the location where you put flac.exe.

Win XP and JFW 12. I understand the OS question, but I am pretty sure this
isn't a screen reader-dependent problem.

Re: How many megabytes on a CD?

2011-04-06 Thread jason
A standard cd canhold up to to 700 megabyte 124 megabytes is enough for
the audio disc A cd can last up to 80 minutes in audio how ever if you
use as a data cd then you can put over 120 mep3's files or enough
material that gets you up to 700 megs so I hope this helps you.

Are any of you able to tell me if this will work or if I should split it on to
2 lists and 2 disks?

Many thanks for any help! Vicky

Re: where to find a squeezebox radio

2011-04-06 Thread Dane Trethowan
To avoide confusion the Squeezebox range of equipment - whilst they do
play radio streams - are in fact audio players etc that is to say that
they will play any audio which goes past them, The Squeezebox series
including Squeeze Boom and Duet models are Wi-Fi Music Players.

The discussion about the Squeezebox radio has caught my interest and I am
wondering if anyone can tell me where a new one might be purchased. A
reliable website would be acceptable--however, Logitech.com doesn't have
them and squeezebox.com doesn't exactly offer what I am looking for! I live
in the San Francisco Bay area if there should be a retail outlet anybody
knows about.

Brian,

My guess is that you must install specific drivers for your external drive.
That should give you a choice between the internal and the external drives.

Re: Most accessible dvd to audio converter?

2011-04-06 Thread jason
Hello Kathy I would use DVD audio extractor for reading dvd's and
converting the chapters to either wav files or mp3 files very simple
program to use and it doesn't take up much space on a computer just
google dvd audio extracter in google and Google should direct you to the
main site to download the program. If you have trouble with the program
just access the help feature and that should help you like the help
feature does on most programs. hope this helps.
