Re: question about nero7.2
When you are burning a disc before you burn the disc go to options button and it should tell you what drive it is trying to burn on once you find that just hit your up and down to select the drive you want cd's to be urned on hope this helps. A strange request
Hi Gang, I have a need to copy something from an old 16rpm talking book disc. I only have 33 rpm. Does anybody know where I can buy or borrow an old machine that will play the 16rpm discs? That's going way back in technology for sure. Thanks for any info. Bud Schwab W 6 Z Y P Malibu, California To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Are you thinking of doing this digitally or with audio tape? If digitally, you could record using the 33 1/3 and then reduce the speed using a program like Goldwave or Sound Forge. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Bud Schwab Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2011 11:23 AM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: A strange request Hi Gang, I have a need to copy something from an old 16rpm talking book disc. Hmm, don't know about doing things like that as you may have problems with equalization. If you use the 33-rpm player and digitally stretch the result, you'll also need noise and hiss reduction. I have a possible idea for you. If you have a cassette player/recorder that can record at either regular or half speed, record your record at full speed. Then, when you change it to half speed, the record will be at normal listening speed. Hope that makes sense and is some help. RE: A strange request
This was a group called The Christian Record and was produced back in the 50's and 60's and was only done at 16 rpm. I only have Total Recorder and CD recorder and I don't think either of them would do what I need. I know there would be sound degradation if I could even do that. Somebody suggested recording it at the 33rpm setting and then play it back at half speed If I had a tape deck which would do that, but unfortunately I don't have a dual speed tape recorder. Thank to all of you for your input. I'll get it some how eventually. If you could record it in to mp3 format, you could use a sound editing program to lower the sample rate, which would lower the speed of the recording. Just a thought. If you have recording software, you can resample the playback from 44.1 to 22.5. resampling playback is different from resampling the file itself. - Original Message - From: Victoria Vaughan vrvaug...@mailzone.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2011 4:06 PM Subject: Re: A strange request I have a possible idea for you. NLS issued recordings of magazines for these players well into the nineties, and I think even beyond 2000. It might be worth contacting your local library to ask if they have any of these machines around and, if not, whether they'd be willing to check with other branches. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Bud Schwab Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2011 12:23 PM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: A strange request Hi Gang, I have a need to copy something from an old 16rpm talking book disc. That's a great idea. I didn't realize those plastic records of magazines were made yet that recently. I'll call the Braille Institute tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the idea. This is a cell phone with speech that I have. Some one did a podcast for techtalk, I think it was, but it was onlyy one part. Does anyone have a more comprehensive podcast or manual.
