trouble with combine Classic home cynema

2017-01-07 Thread Mike Bernard
Hello everyone,

Yes I know I spelled the name of the software wrong, but hopefully you'll
get the point. I'm currently using CCCP which is the accessible
software-based dvd player for windows. I'm currently using version 2015,
which is the latest version. However, when I play a dvd, I find that the
stop and play/pause commands do not work. In fact, they are all disabled.
When I insert a dvd, I give the computer time to recognize it, then I start
CCCP. I choose my optical drive, press slect folder, and the dvd starts to
play. If I try to either stop it or move to the next chapter, nothing
happens. It appears that the only way I can stop the dvd, is to press the
eject button on my drive. Have any of you ever experienced this? At first I
thought that it was a compatible issue between the software and Windows, but
there is no problem from what I can tell. There's no error message. Can
anyone tell me what's going on? Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike

Noticed some changes in my Mac, interesting

2017-01-07 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!
Up until now I would have thought that sound devices you attach to your
computer don’t have any baring on its performance? Well it seems I’ve been
proven wrong and I’ll explain why.
Up until last Wednesday I was using a pair of Logitech Stand-Alone $20 USB
speakers with my Mac, not for music enjoyment primarily rather for the output
of Voiceover, the speakers were small and could be easily placed near me on the
desktop.
One of the problems I was having with my Mac at that time - and had for as long
as I could remember - was Voiceover inexplicably crashing for no apparent
reason so when this happened the obvious and only option was to restart the Mac
and wonder just how long I’d have to do some work before Voiceover crashed
again.
That seems to have all changed since Wednesday morning when I disconnected the
Logitech speakers and connected the B MM1 speaker system, I’ve had no
Voiceover crashes since that time and of course my ears are keeping the
benefits of a much better clarity from Voiceover.
as for the Logitech speakers? They’ve been put away and will probably never get
used often again though I have to admit that they’re worth every bit of $20
just for the convenience factor, put them in a bag with your laptop and you
have reasonable sound whoever you go without power cords attached etc.

I don’t care if you were amongst the genius’s who programmed the computer for
the moon landing.
I use the links generated from Dropbox and you’re the only one who is making a
noise.
So I’ll tell you again what I told you 3 years ago.
If the file doesn’t automatically download then use the context menu associated
with that link to force a download.

Greetings,

I might tell you I've been in the computer field since 1969 and I don't need
you telling me how to use my system thank you very much! I am a professional
programmer of nigh on forty years standing.

I don’t need to finish links off properly mate, what you need to do is to learn
how to use your computer.

Greetings,

Why, when you send out links, don't you finish them off properly?

The link you ought to have sent is:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10565527/KTWV94.7HD2.MP3?dl=1

the file is downloaded by default, which is what most people want, when you
finish the link off with the characters "?dl=1" without the quotes, of
course.

KTWV HD2 signal - people in the Southern California area would know this
station’s regular FM/FM-HD signal as “The Wave”.
The HD2 channel is a nationally syndicated Smooth Jazz format, I’m assuming
this channel pops up on other HD2 signals associated with other CBS FM-HD
transmissions across the U.S?

Here’s the first recording of the Sangean HDR16 Tom has prepared and obviously
its a recording of

Re: Sanjean 909X

2017-01-07 Thread Dane Trethowan
Entering frequency’s into the ATS909X isn’t at all difficult, enter the
frequency and then press the enter key.
The radio beeps and then changes to the frequency entered.
If a wrong frequency is entered then the radio gives a double-beep to indicate
a wrongly entered frequency.
The button to the right of the 0 is a clear key, from memory I think this also
works as a backspace when entering frequency’s.
The button to the left of the 0 is a decimal point key.
The enter key is a large key easily identifiable.
I’ve not used the ATS909X in a good while and I must be getting old ,
can’t remember the procedures exactly but I’m sure it will all come back in a
flash when I get some time to explore the radio again.

Review: Sangean HDR-16 AM/FM/HD Stereo Radio | radiojayallen

2017-01-07 Thread Dane Trethowan
“Patience is a virtue”, at long last we have a review of the Sangean HDR16
portable HD radio and - according to the review - the radio is as impressive as
my friend Tome has sad.
Thanks to Tom again, he has provided some recordings of HD Audio signals which
I will share with the list in the coming days.
All I can say is - to those who are living in the U.S.? - Enjoy your HD radio!
and particularly enjoy your Sangean HDR16 if you purchase one, the radio sounds
a real buzz.

A blind acquaintance just bought a Sanjean 909X from Ebay and is having
problems learning to use it. He especially wants to know how to
directly enter frequencies. Please can you point me to a comprehensive
tutorial on this thing or connect me with someone who knows how to use it.

Thanks.
