Question about burning a CD
Howdy, I probably confused everyone with my question yesterday. I will try to rephrase. I am using Gold Wave, and I am pretty new at this audio stuff. Here's my problem. I have a cassette of a live show. I made one long file, including both sides of the cassette. I put all of the q's in, and split it all up in separate files. When I burn a CD that way, it leaves gaps between the songs. I am not sure how to make that not happen. I would like to make the CD sound live, as it was originally recorded, but still be able to skip through to a certain song. When you buy a CD that is recorded live, you can do that, I mean you can skip to song number 10 if you want to, but listening to the CD straight through will let you hear it seamless. I am not sure how to do that. I hope someone can help. I am stumped. Mark To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Question about CD burning
Howdy, I am using Goldwave. I am pretty new at this. I have a cassette with a live show on it. I created a FLACK file that includes both sides of the cassette to make one long file. I put all of the q's in, but now the problem is, I don't want to split it all up. I want to burn a CD and keep the q's in place, so that when someone listens to the CD, they can skip through, just like a regular CD, or listen to it straight through without any spaces between songs. I hope I am making myself clear on what I am trying to do, and I hope someone can help. Mark To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Question about recording in Goldwave
Howdy All, I am pretty new at this, but I have been using a tutorial. I am still in the beginner's portion of the tutorial. I have everything hooked up right, but when I try to record vinyl, using my turn table, I can't figure out how to monitor the sound from the turn table. I did a test recording, and it is recording, but no sound from the speakers. The tutorial doesn't mention anything about how to do that, so I am at a loss as to what to do. I have changed a couple of settings, but still nothing. I hope someone can help. Mark To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: Question about goldwave, CD reader.
Howdy, Thank you. I wrote to Goldwave, hoping they could help. I didn't know that you can't use an external USB CD drive with Window's XP. Just in case anybody ever has the same problem, I have pasted Goldwave's answer to my problem. Here it is: Do you have an external USB CD drive and are you using Windows XP? There is a known problem with the USB driver in Windows XP that can cause the computer to crash. You'll need to use other CD software, like iTunes or Windows Media Player to copy audio from a CD on such computers. - Original Message - From: Joe Giovanelli joeg...@earthlink.net To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, March 14, 2011 6:52 AM Subject: Re: Question about goldwave, CD reader. Hi, Mark and List, Just to be sure we're on the same page, go to tools by pressing alt-that. Then select cd Reader and press enter. From what you write, that's what you're doing. I wonder if perhaps you're running Windows 7 and using a version of Goldwave which is not compatible with that operating system. If this isn't the problem, I have to guess that your copy of the program is corrupted. Get another copy and uninstall the current copy before installing the new download. I rip cds occasionally and have no difficulty.
