Re: Can a total operate a Go Pro camera guys
Hi, Andy. First, you don't meed a mic, as the cameras have built-in ones, quite nice, in fact. The Hero5 series actually record in stereo. GoPro makes attachments for wrists, arms and legs. Additionally, there's a chest harness that you can wear. Minor problem is that the GoPro's mics are so sentitive that you'll hear a lot of thumping when walking - that's the sound of your feet as you plod along. So, long story short: If you're going to get a GoPro, get the Hero5 Session. Hope this all helps.--Matt & Quill. On 12/1/2016 6:15 AM, Andy wrote: Hi Mat. Thanks for the advice regarding the Gopro cameras. I've been searching my local suppliers over here in Scotland since your message and it's looking a bit complicated. I accept that you were saying about the Gopro hero 5. I can find 2 models the one you suggest and a larger model, more expensive called the Gopro Hero 5 black. So I'd probably go with your suggestion, but which of the Hero 5 range? Another complication is about fitments and attachments. I'd probably need sighted assistence to look at these pages for I don't really understand what they are, apart from a gun grip or extension pole. I'd like something to attach it to my upper chest and perhaps a similar attachment for my dog, for a dog's eye view of training. The final difficulty is that I notice that the 5 has an external mini-usb for connecting a 3D binaural microphone set up. I'd much rather this was a quarter inch socket. So it looks like I have quite a lot of work to do before I actually make my purchase. But it will be the Hero 5 right enough. Thanks again for your help. Very best wishes. Andy. First off, the old stream does only charch on the adapter. No USB charching of any kind is supported. And that is sick in the time we live in. So now the new stream does not just support charching via USB, but it also charch with a pere USB adapter and only have one port wich dubble as both an charching and connection port. The thing I like about the new interface however, is that you can now charch and listen wile its connected to the pc. Connect it wile the unit is turned on, and it will charch and stil be able to play and be usable. Turn it off and connect and turn back on again and the pc will see it as a mass storage device like the old stream did. I am also sick and tired of stupid Samantha and tom drink to much wisky and so the newer acapela voices are more than usable. They really are what I can use for long hours of reading. I love the fact that now on the new stream you can set the sleep timer in custom incriments according to your set time, and not only the presets they always allowed. And the way the clock works is also very unique. They seprit the clock menus from the regular player menu. That is ausom! Also the fact that all features are now available on the unit without the need for a softpack installation. And now it can do line in recording. It no longer support recording of 3gp but mp3 and wave only. That is just fine. As far as I no about the wifi situation, you have to either type in the network info manually, or scan for the network and add it that way. You might be able to add an incrippted network but I doubt it can sync. Although you can confirm that with humanware. Maybe someone on the stream list will no more there. And they might also help with the nls thing, I never saw any notes regarding the presents of such adapter like the old one. And I'm not in the US, and I didn't see the player yet. Andre -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: 06 June 2011 11:19 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Siemens bluetooth Cordless Phone System Hi everyone! Got my new Siemens cordless phone late last week, it has quite a few features which may interest some so thought Id give it a mini review here. The first thing which sets this phone apart from most other cordless phones is its size and looks, one could be forgiven for mistaking the handset as a mobile phone its that small and yet the base is just a big black box with a single button on it. I bought this phone not because of the size so much but because it can be used with a Bluetooth headset, actually it can be used with many bluetooth devices including your mobile phone so this alone makes the system very flexible as you can transfer items from your mobile to the Siemens phone such as contacts etc. You can purchase an optional accessaries cable which allows synchronisation of your contacts and such from your computer to the phone, you can also use the phones bluetooth to do this. So back to the phone itself, hands free is amongst the best Ive heard, its not harsh sounding but yet is quite loud. Those who have heard the hands free from the Siemens report that it sounds crisp and clear. The model I have has an answering service built-in, again the answering service itself seems to be in the handset. When calls arrive and the answering machine is triggered you can hear the caller leaving a message through the loudspeaker on the handset, Call Screening, I suspect that this feature can be disabled should you wish to do so, havent fully read the manual yet and believe me its going to take quite a bit of time to read as its damn thick. Theres a Record button on the handset so I suspect that you can record voice memos, maybe even record phone calls in some countries which allow that sort of thing. Were all familiar with the control one has over just about every aspect of a mobile phone? The same applies to this cordless phone system, custom ring tones, distinctive ringing, SMS tones, alarm tones, calendar tones and even a vibrating alert. I was first made aware of the Siemens cordless phone range thanks to a tipoff from some friends of mine in the U.K. who recently bought themselves one. The model range over there is different to what it is in Australia and may be different again in the U.S. I have a fondness for bluetooth devices as they can connect through the Tek Controller which Ive mentioned previously to my hearing aids. I had a Uniden cordless phone which had bluetooth audio and it wasnt too bad at all. There dont seem to be too many places in Australia who stock the Siemens range so you may have to do a little searching. Siemens in Australia have a web site for their cordless phones which contains much information including downloads of owners manuals. Be warned however that some of the models featured have touch screens and thus would be next to useless I would think to totally blind people though if you have someone set up

Hi, Tim! Thanks for the tip. Will use something other than the one yu mentioned. I have GoldWave and Sound Forge; have to learn them from scratch, as I haven't used them in a while. Also, decided to get the Sony PCM-M10, as it's likely to meet my needs for a while, and it's a recorder I can grow into as my skills working with sound improve. Anyway thoughts? bb To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org __ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4649 (20091130) __ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: Skype Script Version 3.0 for Window-eyes is now Available
Hello. Where are the scripts stored? I can't seem to find them.--Matthew Chao At 11:22 AM 9/28/2009, you wrote: Version 3.0 of the Skype scripts for Window-Eyes are now available at www.gwmicro.com/sc. This version is a complete re-write from past versions, and includes a Skype Information dialog (Alt-Shift-S, by default) providing access to call and chat history, voicemail, status information, and more. You must be running Skype version 4.1.0.166 and Window-Eyes 7.11 or greater for this script to function successfully. Re: Help with voiceovers in Sound Forge
Hello. I have Sound Forge 9, but have trouble editing. Does Window-eyes 7.1 work well with 9, and if not, what's the workaround?--Matthew Chao At 05:48 PM 9/23/2009, you wrote: Hello, I'm using Sound Forge 9 right now. It's been about nine years since I used the voice over options, specifically the one where the music lowers in response to the voice on another file. Where do I find this option again, and how do I go about it? I need a refresher course. Also, is it possible to render just the files separately, such as getting the processed music file with the volume drop in music, but not the voice? I'm not sure if the music file could then be used with other voice files, since the volume drop depends on the specific qualities and volume of the voice that was used in the first place. So direction on this would be helpful. Thanks a lot. On-Demand Cable
Hi, Folks! I posted this query on the electronics list, so thought I'd pop the question here. Is anyone doing anything on making On-Demand cable menu accessible? I have an HDTV and HD cable box. Watching TV's great, but there's no way for a blind person to deal with the On-Demand feature; very frustrating. Just thought I would ask the question. Re: is lightscribe accessible?
Hello. Yes, you do if you want to label the other side of the cd or dvd. Otherwise, it will burn cd's or dvd's.--Matthew Chao At 12:00 AM 11/8/2008, you wrote: Hello, I have an HP with a lightscribe burner in it. Do you have to buy special light scribe CDs? Yes it is. If you go to lightscribe.org and download LightScribe Simple Labeller, you can write a label on the disk. You probably can't include all the track names, but you can easily put your name and the name of the disk. You need a burner that is enabled with LightScribe and disks that are LightScribe enabled. When you are done burning the music to the disk, flip the disk over in the same drive and go to the LightScribe burning program. Open it and follow the prompts. There are other LightScribe programs that permit creation of fancier disk labels, but I haven't tried those. Sonic and Nero and I presume Roxio all have LightScribe labelling components to them. Using Sound Forge 9.0
Hi, Folks! Am having some trouble using SF 9.0. When I try to edit a file, I have trouble controlling the cursor, even when I zoom in (up arrow). This does not seem to be the case with earlier versions of Sound Forge (6 and 7.) Zooming doesn't seem to work as well in this version as in earlier ones. I'm using Window-Eyes 6.1 with this software. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, are there any workarounds?
