Airfoil For Windows
Hi! I seem to recall a fello list member having some issues with Airfoil. A new update has just been released it seems so perhaps that list member - if he hasn't already done so - might like to apply the Airfoil Software Update now on offer. This is easily done, launch Airfoil and Airfoil should tell you if an update is available for download, if not then go to the Hlep menu and select Check For Software Update.
Re: Airfoil For Windows
Okay you’re going to have to do this search on spec meaning that you may not come up with a result to solve your problem immediately, you may have to browse forums a little or vary the search request. Go into Google and type in the search box something like airfoil transmission problems and see what you get. You can vary your search if you like by typing something like airfoil VLC transmission problems. Let me know how you get on. > On 31 Jul 2016, at 11:39 PM, Fanus <buys.fa...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hello Dane > I am not that familiar with google, so how would you construct the search > term? > Regards > Fanus > > > From: Dane Trethowan > Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2016 2:43 PM > To: PC Audio Discussion List > Subject: Re: Airfoil For Windows > > Yes that’s true and I’m sorry that I can’t help either because I’ve never had > that problem in all the time I’ve used Airfoil and that’s been quite a few > years now, have you looked around on Google for a possible solution? Yes that’s true and I’m sorry that I can’t help either because I’ve never had that problem in all the time I’ve used Airfoil and that’s been quite a few years now, have you looked around on Google for a possible solution? Hello Dane I still have the problem that I can not stream with Airfoil. VLc lets the music sound like a robot and Winamp just makes crackles. I filled in the support form but got no answer. It is really a pity that one pays for software and can’t use it. Regards Fanus From: Dane Trethowan Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2016 8:22 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Airfoil For Windows Hi! So now I have Windows 10 up and running again so now to the annoying bit, reinstalling all that software. I won't be reinstalling iTunes and that's not because of iTunes itself which is a nice piece of software but I myself have no need for iTunes these days, more important in the audio side of things was the VLC Media Player and - given I do a lot of streaming - the excellent Airfoil for Windows App. If you have some Bluetooth or AirPlay device about and you wish to stream to them then Airfoil is truly a most useful tool you should consider and I did say Bluetooth devices so I'll talk about the shortly. The accessibility of Airfoil has come quite a long way since I started using the Windows version, you can use the tab key to move between the various panels of the software, for example each AirPlay device will have its own panel where you can turn transmission of a stream on and off, adjust the volume of the output and so on. The buttons aren't labeled but they'ear easy enough to work out. The bigger problem is entering one's licence key, it can be done but you'll most likely need to use the JAWS Cursor or WE Cursor to find where the information should be entered. So what can you stream using Airfoil? Pretty much anything that exists on your computer, capture an Applications audio for example or capture the output of a sound device or TV Tuner. So now to Bluetooth and the ability to handle Bluetooth is a recent addition to the capabilities of Airfoil If you have a computer which is capable of streaming to Bluetooth devices you can pair your devices and have Airfoil transmit to them independent of your computers speech and other sound. You can also define "Groups", you might like to put say two different devices into a group and transmit straight to the group rather than connect each device independently, saves a lot of time.

RE: Airfoil Fir Windows 5
Hi Dane Can Airfoile capture the output of a screen reader like Jaws or Voice Over as well as the music? I often use a wireless keyboard in a different room from my PC and get the audio output on an old-fashioned wireless radio speaker. I'm wondering if I could replace with an airplay one. You could for example use your favourite Internet browser to navigate to your favourite radio station, capture the audio and stream it to your AirPlay compatible speakers or AVR Receiver, another computer or Smartphone running Airfoil Satellite etc. Now Airfoil is smarter than ever giving the ability to transmit captured audio to Bluetooth devices such as Bluetooth Speakers and headphones. Not only can you capture running Apps on your Windows PC you can also capture the audio from Physical devices such as the line-in source of a sound card and so on. This is certainly good news. Shows ya just how infrequently I use my Airplay devices with Windows! On Sun, 21 Sep 2014 14:28:46 +1000, you wrote: Hi! Has anyone tried Airfoil For Windows lately. This state of affairs is still true for part of the software as far as I can see, you still need to tab to the Source button so you may select which video/sound source you want for streaming but at least all your AirPlay streaming targets can be found organised for you in a menu. Wonderful Job With Airfoil For Windows
I'm using the latest updates for Airfoil For Windows, haven't used the App in a while and I have to say the updated version is a huge leap forward from the earlier versions I had used, the Interface is far easier to get around for a start. Airfoil is an App you can use to stream audio sources from your computer to an AirPlay device or another computer running Airfoil Speakers. As well as being able to control Airfoil and the audio from your computer you can use IOS/Android Controler Apps from mobile devices to do the job.

Hello Dane I downloaded the airfoil update but when I try to install it says I need some or other .net frame profile ... and it gives me an option to download it but there is no specific link on the microsoft page. Do you know how I should go about to get the correct file? Up until recently the only way you could select a target was to take pot luck by tabbing around the screen or moving the mouse, pressing a button and hoping for the best. Some Screen reading software such as WE allowed labeling and customisation of the buttons but this didn't seem to work all that well but it worked well enough in most cases. Now output points such as Apple TV'S, Airport Express units, Iphones, Ipads and other computers running the Airfoil Speakers application are listed in the menu which is accessed by pressing the Alt key, select the device you want to transmit to, wait a couple of seconds and transmission of your selected source starts. Conversely if you wish to stop transmission, select the device from the menu and press return, transmission of audio stops. Under new versions of Airfoil, you can transmit your source to multiple devices or instances of computers/Iphones/Ipads running Airfoil Speakers on your network. Airfoil for Windows again
Hello all. I have enquired with the company Rogue Amoeba about the noise that is overlaid on all transmissions longer than 10 minutes. You are listening out for a white noise type of static. This is of course if you are using the demo. Also to let you know I have downloaded and installed the beta of the next major release, version 3. So I will give feedback to them regarding accessibility. Chat soon. -- Chris Hallsworth Sent from Thunderbird To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Airfoil for Windows
Hello all. Has anyone used this program in trial mode? If so, can someone please tell me what noise is overlayed in the audio? I've been looking on the web and in the help, but all they are saying is either noise is overlayed or the audio quality is degraded. Would like to know so as to what to expect. Would love to try it but silly me is scared of what's going to happen. Many thanks. -- Chris Hallsworth Sent from Thunderbird To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: Airfoil for Windows
I forgot to mention it allows you to wirelessly stream audio from one device running Airfoil Speakers or an Apple Airport Express or Apple TV to the computer where Airfoil is installed and running. Neat if you want to broadcast your music collection or audio books around your house. Like I say the trial is fully functional however noise is overlaid on transmissions longer than 10 minutes. The cost is $25 and you can get it from www.rogueamoeba.com. Happy streaming! Chris Hallsworth Sent from Thunderbird On 28/06/2011 11:18, chris hallsworth wrote: Hello all. Depends what you mean by decent. Smiles. May try piping the audio to my netbook at some point. Quality won't be good, very true, but at least the setup should work and Airfoil works as advertised. You won't need a cable at all. Just download the free Airfoil Speakers Touch, run it, run Airfoil on your computer, click the transmit button, and audio will pipe, or be sent to your iPod Touch. Hope this helps. Chris Hallsworth Sent from Thunderbird On 28/06/2011 20:07, Brent Harding wrote: Wow, so if I got this, I could finally get rid of that audio cable I use for my IPod touch?
