Re: Is the timed recording accessible in Sound Forge?
Yes..that is..if you're lucky enough to get Tapin Radio to schedule something! But if you're like me and cannot, then that's another story; Tapin Radio is a great program for recording in that I find I can record and still do things on the computer! But if I didn't already know that I have friends who use it to schedule things, I would deem it enable to schedule an event (it insists that my task scheduler service is not running) when, in fact, all indications (at least as far as I can see) indicate that it is! And no one has been able to tell me what to do to fix this! I have a word I've always lived by and that is the word "Convenience", it was more convenient for me to purchase Total Recorder as I know this software to be accessible, the standard version will do what you want and only costs $11.00 from memory, not only that but its a far more reliable recorder than Sound Forge has ever been. If it was just leaving for a day and returning, I'd just leave the recording going, and trim the before and after, since I have enough hard drive space, but I don't have that much for this project. I'd not be able to record 48 hours straight. If the timer feature is accessible, will it let you choose a time for the next day? Thanks a lot. Re: Is the timed recording accessible in Sound Forge?
Sorry, should have explained myself in more details. Yep! I mean that Sound Forge is known for its unreliability when it comes to audio recording and it is suggested that you "optimise" the software for recording, this isn't straight forward however and I've had times when - even after optimisation is completed as detailed in the help files - I still get gaps in Recordings, its also known that Sound Forge has a huge overhead which probably explains the recording problems. On the other hand Total recorder does what it says and does it well! when it comes to recording and usually no defaults need to be altered. Hmm, Sound Forge unreliable in what way? Do you mean that Sound Forge has recording issues versus Total Recorder? I haven't noticed, though I know that earlier version did sometimes tend to drop seconds, and also ground the hard drive quite noisily. I've been a Sound Forge user for ten years though.
