Re: List Rules Regarding Music Posts
So the guy needs some help with titles of songs. How is that against the rules? I think you're going a little overboard. The Leslie Gore was a direct request but not this thread about CCR. Please let me know if this still falls under those rules. bb - Original Message - From: "Tom" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Monday, November 26, 2007 4:59 AM Subject: List Rules Regarding Music Posts > The quote below is taken from the rules for posting to the pc > audio list. Re: List Rules Regarding Music Posts
David As I understand the guideline of not discussing streams, this refers to streams one has a personal interest in -- not streams in general. Otherwise, what you see happen on some lists is that each time someone does their homebrew internet show, they post a note about it. And reading that same stuff over and over from the same folks is a turn off for a lot of people and can, given the list, become the dominant posting on a list drriving folks away. Wellk, I understand but, but I don't understand the part about not talking about streams. Was there some thought that there would be bitter disagreement over them or what? If everyone knew how to use google at its most effective level, we wouldn't need lists. Another way to learn about which songs to with the tracks you have is to find the same album on amazon and compare their written track listings with your numbers. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Skarstad Sent: Monday, November 26, 2007 8:02 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: List Rules Regarding Music Posts Hi. This list, along with Blindtech, started out in the stable of Jonathan Mosen. And up until the last year or so, the lists went in tandem through a number of managers, including Jonathan for a 2nd time. Last year, Tom took this list and BlindTech went its separate way. As for the rule, Jonathan wanted to steer clear of possible conpyright infringements occurring via the list; hence, the rule on music. I doubt that he had ever envisioned the particular direction this particular thread has tkaen. I personally don't have a feeling on this; but perhaps Tom needs to think this one over and decide whether where one can legally find particular music (or lyrics) is on or off topic. Finding hard to get songs from 3rd party sources could help a lot of folks out particularly in gift giving season.
