Hi All,

Tidying up my music library and addking all my Mrs nonsense to it. When

ripping with WMP often comes up as unknown album which is from what I can

tell is when web connection is down. Firstly does it get the album details

from the cd in the drive or from the web? Secondly how can I go through the

unknown album rips and identify them, is there a way? Many thanks

Re: Ripping Music

2012-01-15 Thread JM Casey
Alternatively there are probably other resources on the web that give proper
tracklistings and so on for the albums you need to enter properly. This
often depends on the genre. There are archives out there for jazz,
progressive rock, metal, etc, where you can find that info; it's usually
more reliable than CDDB, but of course they only list the discographies of
their respective genre artists.

It gets the unique number of the CD and with that, it gets the info from a

I borrow a pair of good eyes, normally my wife's, and ask her to read me

Kelly,

I haven't been able to find the download section, for that program; I
googled it, but, I may have been too much of a novice, to tell where I was!
Can you give me a URL and some download tips on that one?

Thanks,

I just installed Exact Audio copy for the first time today. The program is
a geek's paradise, but once thoroughly configured and tweaked, the rips
really sound good. I'm using the latest LAME compression with 256 VBR
joint stereo. When I played the sample rips through my Audiophile 2496
sound card in Winamp in 24 bit mode through my Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speaker
System, which is 200 watts and THX certified, it sounded like a mini
concert right in front of me! I doubt seriously that Microsoft can match
the finely tuned LAMED presets created after thousands of hours of trial
and error from a bevy of developers around the world.

Why settle for any MP3 extraction when you can have an exact audio copy?

The program has some keyboard shortcuts and it is nearly fully accessible.
What is not easily accessible are tooltips in configuration dialogues,
which mostly can be accessed with a review cursor or an online tutorial.

Re: Ripping Music with WMP11

2007-06-26 Thread Christopher Chaltain
My initial answer is that if size isn't an issue for you, I'd just go
with 100% which is a 320 kbts bit rate. If you click on the RIP menu
button on the main page, you'll see that you can set the bit rate
directly and it can be set to 128 kbts, 192 kbts, 256 kbts and 320 kbts.
I'm assuming this maps to quality settings of 0%, 33%, 66% and 100%
respectively. Unless space is an issue, I'd never use anything less than
192 kbts, but of course there's no right answer here, and it depends on
how much space you want to save and how discerning your hearing is.

High Amanda,
You can rip all of your cds with WMP11 as is, but you will need to change
the default settings to MP3.
In spite of what others may or will tell you, you don't need any special
plug ins for this to work for you.
My best regards to you all.

Re: ripping music with Windows Media

2005-08-21 Thread John R. and guide dog Iris
Hi Scott, John R. here, I'm sure I can help

Now for the Unknown thing, this is done because Windows Media player can't
get out on to the internet, this could be a firewall, or a setting, if you
are using Norton Anti Virus 2005, this will ask you straight away if you
want to let it, I know this because this is what I use. if that isn't the
case then you may not have the correct options set up for the program do the
following:
Open Windows Media Player
Go to the Tools Menu
Now arrow down to Options and hit enter
Now get on to the page named, Player Tab, or something like that, this can
be done a number of ways but using, CTRL Tab together will move you through
the pages
Now once the Page tab is in view, tab across the page and look for an option
that says something like, Connecting to the internet over rides every
program, this is done because there could be a program going out on to the
internet at the same time and Windows Media player could be waiting for that
to finish, or the option might be on Don't connect.

Now about the folder change, do the following:
Have Windows Media Player open
Go to the Tools Menu
Go to Options the same as before
Now once Options is open go to the Rip Tab, this can be done the same as
before, CTRL and Tab, until you come to Rip Tab Page
The first button you land on is called Change you press enter or spacebar on
this and this will open another window and tab around and I'va change the
folder or create a folder for it and it when it is crated or change will
conferm if you want to make that change.

I hope this helps if not please get back to me on I'va private E-mail,
through this group, or on MSN:
All these details are below.

Speak to you later
