Again, you're right it won't be the end all be all. I wander what is the end all be all recorder. The way Neal talked about them, it sounds like the sound-devices ones are. UYeah no, Olympus doesn't really make that kind of stuff. Until now that is. Usually it's just average consumer recorders they make. They finally are going to go pro. Let's just weight and see how pro it really sounds though. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Steve Mann Sent: Saturday, December 24, 2011 2:52 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Using iPot Touch or iPhone as portable recorder. $300.00 doesn't sound too bad, considering how much you used to have to spend for a multi track cassette recorder. Okay, my question is, since people have been talking about the affordability of the LS-100, I don't recall seeing a price mentioned. What is the price of this beasty expected to be around? To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: Using iPot Touch or iPhone as portable recorder.
No problem! I should have mentioned Gig Addy actually and Garage Band. The product I mentioned initially Fire Field Recorder is - as far as I know - only a 2 track recer though it has everything one could want in a 2 track recorder only problem is that it sampling rate only goes up to 44.1KHZ though this may have been a limit on the IOS operating system and may have changed. What's more, it can do more than an Ipod can. I mean, whilst we are on that, can the Ipod multi track for instance? There are things you can use for it, but how good do they really sound? But anyways, that's just all I meant. Not bashing it or any thing and not bashing the H1 either, but just saying that it looks like there will be a really cool option soon is all. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Friday, December 23, 2011 3:31 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Using iPot Touch or iPhone as portable recorder. Aha, but you see, I mean the ZooomH1 is cool for what it is, but the LS-100 will have phantom power and all that studio stuff apparently, and it'll talk. So yeah, it'll be very cool. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Friday, December 23, 2011 3:03 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Using iPot Touch or iPhone as portable recorder. No, it doesn't have talking this or talking that, no it doesn't have bells and whistles to write home to Mum about but it is! a very high quality and easy to use recorder which handles MP3 and Wave format, encoding quality for MP3 can be set along with sampling and bit rate for Wave. Hi! My favourite subject , I've been down that road before. I use Fire Field recorder though it hasn't been updated for quite some time. Now here's where things become a little tricky. Re: Using iPot Touch or iPhone as portable recorder.
Dave, these might sound like common sense suggestions but I was thinking nearly the exact same thoughts you were. I know that there are some mics that are omnidirectional and they might be from iriver? But just a voice mic isn't horribly expensive, well unless you want like a pa mic I suppose. as for using the ipod, well, I'd imagine there's some ap out there that would be a sound recorder. I would post to the viphone list because they'd have answers about accessability of things like that. I'm a very new iphone user myself so I wish I could provide more help than this letter.
