I have only two gripes about it, both relatively minor. First, the one room in which I wish to hang out, specifically aging disgracefully, is the one and only room as far as I know in which you may not participate unless you pay the $20 per year annual subscription fee. Otherwise, you can participate as a guest, but not in this one. If there are other such rooms, I am not aware of them. Secondly, the moderators of VIP are positively paranoid about any discussion which even hints of illegal copying, contraband, cracks, etc. They are great people, but they do monitor the rooms, and they do not hesitate to let you know that they do not like conversation heading in directions of which they disapprove. Because it has been designed for blind people it is completely accessible. It works with your sound card using speakers and a microphone or you can chat using a USB headset/microphone. More details are at www.vipconduit.com. It isn't really like Skype. I hope this helps. Regards Steve. On Mon, 22 Mar 2010 07:12:01 -0400 "DJ DOCTOR P" wrote: How does it work? Re: [Vip announce] Help us get the word out
Don and list: You are correct about the moderators stance on file sharing..a policy that..personally..I think they are paranoid about! As for Aging Disgracefully being the only room where a "20 dollar" charge comes into play: I don't think this is entirely true! There are music events (I think the "Country Corner" room)..is another room that one must be a "supporting member" in order to use; I think there may be some other rooms where this applies..but I can't remember precisely which rooms are affected off the top of my head. I usually visit there on a fairly "nightly" basis; is a good site if you're into chatting with other people, playing music..and the like! Tom Kaufman (aka Tomcat) To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
