I like my PNY vibe just fine. Haven't heard of that mp3 player, how
 much
memory does it have? Mine can be a USB mass storage device, too, and
  it
  also
has .wav support, and the ability to record line-in.

That's good though, at least if it has a switch you can accedently rub
something against it and it will switch to unlock. Mines flash too. Best
 to
go with flash. I like them with menus though, like having the equilizer
 (do
Ipod shuffels have that?) And I like the fact that mine will go into sleep
mode after a set amount of time.

Advice to everyone: do *not* buy rio products. I had 2 rio nitrisses and 1
rio carbin in less then 3 months, both worked for about a week then quit
 altogether.

Re: the luxpro tangent

2005-12-07 Thread Tyler Wood
I'm not sure about now, but when I told them that my nitress was dead, they
gave me a lot of things to do, which was good. Then finally I got told that
bad news the harddrive was shot. Actually, that last nitress lasted me about
a year, and I thoughrely enjoyed the player itself. It was accesible, and
has a decent memory. I'm not saying rio's bad, just that those 3 players I
had were lemons, or defective.

 the
same as the ipod shuffle, however this unit has mp3 wma support, is a
 usb
masss storage device, has an fm radio and a fairly low quality voice
recorder, but ot works. Its very easy to use, comes with a 1 year
warantee and costs under a hundred dollars

Re: the luxpro tangent

2005-12-07 Thread Tyler Wood
The PNY vibe is around $170, and requires no software. I like it for its
portability, and its good sound. It will last for well over 20 hours on one
tripple a battery, and has FM radio, voice recording feature, etc etc.
(32kbps). You can also record the radio; the one thing I don't like about it
is the following. (I'll probably contact there tech support and ask for a
future firmware).

When I am reading a book, and turn the power off, it returns to the
beginning of the book, not where I left off. I am appalled by this, because
you'd think there would be such a feature. I didn't know this at first
glance, but the player supports folders. And what it lacks in resuming it
makes up for in sound, a veriety of play modes/ equilizer/ and a
portability/sound quolity.

Re: the luxpro tangent

2005-12-06 Thread Tyler Wood
That's good though, at least if it has a switch you can accedently rub
something against it and it will switch to unlock. Mines flash too. Best to
go with flash. I like them with menus though, like having the equilizer (do
Ipod shuffels have that?) And I like the fact that mine will go into sleep
mode after a set amount of time.

Advice to everyone: do *not* buy rio products. I had 2 rio nitrisses and 1
rio carbin in less then 3 months, both worked for about a week then quit
altogether.

RE: the luxpro tangent

2005-12-06 Thread André van Deventer
Hi

Speaking about mp3 players - what is the largest flash player available?
Just curious.

Having gotten used to my iriver h320 hard disk player, I think I will find
it difficult getting used to these smaller machines.
