My computer is a Pentium 3 600 mhz with 768 MB of ram, so maybe 128 MB
 of
ram is not enough memory for Sound Forge to do a propper paste mix.

When you're scrubbing you hear the file playing at a faster or slower
speed than it was recorded at. As if you put your reel to reel tape
recorder in neutral and turned the reels by hand listening for a particular
spot in the recording. The audio you hear is continuos with no skipping.
Sound forge 8.0 has hot keys to control scrubbing, forward, reverse, faster,
slower.

Latency in sound forge 6

Hi, I'm recording a cd with a friend that sings italian songs, for personal
satisfaction.
I'am a Jaws 6.10 user (italian version) and for recording I use sound forge 6.
I've incided the voice, but when I try to mix it with the music the result is

What can I try to do?
If someone want I can send an example of mix, I've to resolve this problem.
I've also tryed to install sound forge 8 but whit this version I've others
problems, and I would like to use 6.0.

Can you help me?

Re: Latency in sound forge 6

2005-11-18 Thread Ken Burgess
Well, it sounds to me like you are doing everything correctly. As long as
the voice and music are at the same tempo, and that the voice begins at
precisely the right spot in the music, and that you have pasted the voice
and music together in the way you describe, well ... it should work!

Hi, yes, I'am sure of the two questions that you hasked me.
To mix the voice with the music I select all the file of the voice, then I
copy it into the cliboard, and after this I press control tab for going at
the music file. Then I press ctrl+m and I select the preset normal mix

 Hello,

Are you sure that the voice was recorded using the same tempo as the
 music?

Are you sure that the voice begins to sing at exactly the right time in
 the
 music?

How did you mix the voice and the music together?

Hi, I'm recording a cd with a friend that sings italian songs, for
  personal satisfaction.
I'am a Jaws 6.10 user (italian version) and for recording I use sound
  forge 6.
I've incided the voice, but when I try to mix it with the music the
 result
is that first the song is ok, and then the voice goes out of tempo.
  Note
that if I listen only the voice it's at the correct time!
What can I try to do?
If someone want I can send an example of mix, I've to resolve this
  problem.
I've also tryed to install sound forge 8 but whit this version I've
 others
problems, and I would like to use 6.0.

  Can you help me?

Re: Latency in sound forge 6

2005-11-18 Thread Ken Burgess
Well, I am using Sound Forge 8 and I mixed a voice track and a music track
together just to make sure that it would work, and it did with no problem.
One thing you should watch, make sure that if your music track is in stereo
that the voice track is also in stereo, and at the two tracks are at the
same sampling rate.
I know that we are not using the same version of Sound Forge, but I don't
know if that makes a difference or not.
You say that it mixed correctly on another PC. Were you using Sound Forge on
this other PC?

So, did you get better results on the faster computer, or on the slower one?
My computer is a Pentium 3 600 mhz with 768 MB of ram, so maybe 128 MB of
ram is not enough memory for Sound Forge to do a propper paste mix.

Subject: Latency in sound forge 6

So, did you get better results on the faster computer, or on the slower
one?
My computer is a Pentium 3 600 mhz with 768 MB of ram, so maybe 128 MB of
ram is not enough memory for Sound Forge to do a propper paste mix.

Re: to upgrade or not: Sound Forge 6 to 8, with or withoutSnowman scripts

2005-11-17 Thread Jerry Richer
I'm not entirely familiar with what the Snowman's scripts allow you in
Sound Forge. I'm not a big JAWS user. The scripts do allow scrubbing or
scrubbing after a fashion. Sound Forge 8.0 has hot keys built-in for
scrubbing however.
Gary can you hear the file while you're moving the cursor? With
scrubbing you can hear the audio as the file plays forward or reverse,
speeding up and slowing down. This way you can hear where you are but it
would take some practice to understand the audio at high or low speeds.
The term scrubbing comes from when people would hold a reel on a reel
to reel tape recorder in each hand and turn the tape back and forth to find
the point on a tape where they wanted to do some work by listening.

Re: to upgrade or not: Sound Forge 6 to 8,with or withoutSnowman scripts

2005-11-17 Thread Gary Petraccaro
Still not sure I understand, however, let's say I have a recording of a voice
reading the alphabet. With cuing on, if I hit right arrow, after starting
playing First, it would sound like a, c, f, i, and if I hit left arror, it
would repeat the same sequence in reverse. If I use pg-up and down, it will do
the same thing if the recording's long enough.
Is that scrubbing?
Thanks. Hope this helps.

Hi Dean,

I'm not sure about the cost now. There was an offer earlier
where you could upgrade from any version for $99, but I think that is
over. But, as for is it worth the upgrade? I believe it is. For
one thing, there is now a scrubbing feature and that alone makes it
worth while for me. During the $99 offer, you also received the full
version of cd archetect. Go for it.

Sound Forge 6

2005-05-21 Thread Samuel
Hi, I have looked on eabay for Sound Forge 6 but didn't find anyone who soled

because the two versions of Sound Forge, versions 7 and 8 do not support
windows Millennium and I don't want to upgrade to XP. The Reason I say
arriginal is because I don't want to cause piracy. I would also like the help,
all the plug-ins and all. I don't want to be rude, but I can not except a price
above 55 dollars. Sorry if I'm rood. Samuel. No virus found in this outgoing message.

Sound forge 6 text manual

Is there a way that I can either tell Windows Media player that I don't want
it to be the default player for playing cds, or for me to tell Roxio Audio
Central that it should be the default? I don't see any options of either

Also, what's the easiest way for making play lists in Roxio Audio Central?
This is Roxio Easy CD and DVD version 6 I think.

Ok I did managed to installed it with no problem, and I am able to record my
voice by using my microphone. and what I am trying to do is to record a

All changes must be carried out in Sounds under the Control Panel. SF will
record whatever the system presents it. Don't use JFW, so can't comment
about scripts.
