Re: SoundTaxi & DRM Protection
Hello Roger, Well you have used all the tools which I would have thought should give you extracted audio, obviously though, they will not work where protection is in force. I guess to get the job done, although not in a timely manner, I'd make analogue recordings of the source discs, set goldwave or your prefered recorder to set queue points for 3 second gaps, then encode the resulting files. At least you have the joy of listening to those fabulous tracks again. DMCA is a nasty inposition by the record label though, and it would anoy me as I guess it is anoying you. Mind you, It would be good to know if you circumvent the drm or equivalent on these discs. Good luck, and good listening. Joe . -- Joe Paton

RE: question for soundtaxi users
I also now bought this excellent programme. One disappointment though. It seems that you can only save in .wav format should you want to go totally lossless. I had some drm protected files which are encoded in wma lossless. It removes the protection that is fine but it seems that you can can only save up to a maximum of 320 kbps wma or .wav. the .wav files are of course lossless but with them you cannot edit tags for artist, album, etc. Even apple's lossless format would have been fine as I have itunes on my machine. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of brian parker Sent: 17 April 2013 09:36 AM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: question for soundtaxi users Hi, i have found that sometimes, conversions of audible files by soundtaxi, have a bit cut off at the end. did any of you have this problem. if so, can anything be done. brian. Re: SoundTaxi Scripts Question.
Hello to all! Sorry for my question, but, I came lately about this topic. What is sound taxi anyway? What does it do? Is it freeware? Where can I download sound taxi and the scripts too? Any help is appreciated. Roden - Original Message - From: "Don Ball" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: SoundTaxi Scripts Question.
Ken, Sound Taxy is a conversion program. As we've been telling you now for years, to do what you want to do requires a recording program such as Gold Wave, Sound Forge or Total Recorder, to name a few. Re: SoundTaxi Scripts Question.
Hi Jim; Say, I was wondering if this Sound Taxi prog would do the job I'd like to do as that is to take any cassette or vinal record and some how line these sounds either from vinal or cassetteto a cd diskbut not sure just how to do it. You can notice I'm puter *almost* illiteret when it comes to figuring out these problems re our pc. If Taxi does not work, what prog would you advise me on? I down loaded Gold Wave, but can't think how to understand the stuff Gold Wave advises as ideally it would benefit me if someone could phone me and then to show just how gold wave or any other prog works and lead me into various steps to just plainely comprehend the crazy software!
