Re: Using a PocketWizard

2014-11-30 Thread Larry Colen
For the price of one of those, you could buy six Yongnuo 603
tranceivers, or two of their fancy 560 units that will control flashes
by zone. I just got some YN603IIs, am playing with them right now, and
am very happy with them.

Plus, when you are ready to invest a princely $70 or $75 into some
speedlights, they will be radio compatible with the 603 transceivers.

I was give a few old basic dumb pocket wizards and loved them in
comparison to my blazeo radio triggers, but these yongnuos rock.

https://www.google.com/search?q=yongnuo+rf-603

They have also released the upscale rf 605 tranceivers:

The 560 iv has the transmitter which the 560 iii lacks

Which has some cool functionality with the yn560tx

guess not! Here it is again, but without the typos. Sorry about that!

Hey Guys,

I'm using my K-7 (oops, I mean my brand new K-3!) with two ProFoto Compact
600R flashes. I'm loving these flashes, because even though they're not TTL,
they're great because they are absolutely consistent on their flash output
(which I can dial in on each device), which is important for the
focus-stacking I'm doing.

Well, the guy I'm borrowing them from is letting me buy them for a vey
good price. However, I have to buy a remote trigger for them. Right now I'm
using his PocketWizard Flex TT5. I'm looking for a reliable but inexpensive
one that will work with my K-3 and these flashes. Any idea if the
PocketWizard PlusX Wireless will do the trick?

I make my own cheap, very handy backdrop hangers out of shower curtain

Re: K24mm f/2.8

2014-11-30 Thread P.J. Alling
I have both a K and an A version of this lens, and both seem identical
as far as IQ is concerned. Edge sharpness was pretty good on film and
I've never noticed any particular corner softness or light drop off when
shooting on APS-C digital. It's just a nice e-35mm lens. The only
issue is precise focus, wide open, using the stock ground glass screens,
but if you're going to be using it at f8 that's not a problem problem.

On 11/29/2014 4:49 AM, Steve Cottrell wrote:

I just bought a good condition K24/2.8 to use on a digital 1.5x body -
any comments/advice on this lens? I gather it's sharp in the centre wide

street anyway, so hoping this will be a good lens to use in these
circumstances. Thanks.

Ah, I'm not using NoScript.

I'm getting the same error from NoScript using the Pale Moon browser.

"Chrome" is the name Mozilla uses for the frame around the browser

Google took that name for their browser.

If I read the error console messages correctly Dropbox is using XSS to
substitute another URL for the one you posted.

If NoScript is giving you a drop down banner with an "Options" button,
selecting the "Unsafe Reload" option will show you the image.

The fountain is a gem by itself; the tryke is a nice bonus that makes

Re: PESO -- The Secret

2014-11-30 Thread P.J. Alling
It's probably a redirect. The URL is virtual. Everything on my local
machine in DropBox exists within a directory structure that is partially
defined by DropBox and partially defined by me. I doubt very much that
my directory structure is replicated on a Dropbox server. Much more
likely that it's stored in a database and when Dropbox gets a request,
(the public link), it puts my data in a temporary space and redirects
the browser to that space. Physical space is still more expensive than
processor power.

Actually two for the price of one #blackfriday

Fuji XE-1 and Pentax M35/2.8

Very quick and minimal processing on these. I noticed a focus problem
with this lens (my wife's) and need to do some tests. Still, thse were
just about in the ballpark...
