This has been a difficult yet reassuring Christmas. All my children are here,
and we had a nice day, but couldn’t help speaking of what we would have done
were mom were here. As darkness fell one of my daughter said there was a full
moon, and that there wouldn’t be another full moon at Christmas for 30 years.
Somehow that seemed signifiant. Don’t know why. But I went out and shot it.

It was 78 degrees (F) here in Raleigh yesterday. Even with the heat off,
it got so hot in the house I had to turn the air conditioner back on.

Seventy degrees (F) is more the norm around here for this time of year.
Winter doesn't really begin to show up until mid-January.

Thanks for doing the list again this year, Mark!

I know it involves quite a bit of work compiling the quotations list,
but then there is the agony of having to read everything that we write
here on the PDML!.

Now I know it's really Christmas morning!

And like everyone else I first scroll down and see how many of mine are in
there. Then I sloowly scroll up, reading each one.

A vintage year. Bob W. was in fine form this year, but honestly you could do an
entire page of Bob quotes and still miss some good ones. In fact, just to give
the rest of us a chance, I suggest you do that moving forward (oh how I hate
that phrase - "moving forward" - eeew!): A Bob W. page and a page for the rest

Fair is fair.

And in all seriousness, thanks Mark, for another year of great quotes. Next
year starts right now! LOL!

Ham on toast! Makes me feel posh having home-made croissants with brie
(I'd have loved some good ham with them). And of course a generous slice
of breakfast pavlova because calories don't count today.

Croissants and brie! How very, very posh...

Ham on toast is one of life's little luxuries - almost as good as
Vegemite on toast :-)

We have a very good butcher not far away who cures his own ham - and
bloody good it is too!

This year it's worked out that most of the family stuff has been spread
out over a couple of weeks. So we've had a nice Christmas day so far
with lots to do but without being rushed.

Much the same here. Our youngest son is here today and we've been taking
it easy while sampling chocolates, listening to music and watching The
Second Best Marigold Hotel - almost as good as the original. We're
saving our appetites for tomorrow when our oldest son and his partner
will be here for lunch.

Cheers
