Re: K-1 and Photoshop CS6
Oh and I forgot that adobe now has k-1 and k-3 ii profiles built in as well. So you aren't stuck with just adobe standard or embedded anymore. You can pick natural, portrait, etc. I rarely use anything other than reversal film (which sadly isn't supported) so the profiles are pretty useless to me. The portrait and natural ones aren't bad though. On Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 2:08 AM, Zos Xaviuswrote: > Yes you can just convert pef to dng with the dng converter. Re: K-1 and Photoshop CS6
Yes you can just convert pef to dng with the dng converter. Or you can shoot DNG and just open the raw. Do note that the K-1 has a bunch of advanced features that the older camera raw does not support like multiple area white balance. In the latest lightroom, it works with the K-3 or at least it doesn't shift to green anymore. Lightroom also has the latest adobe profile for the K-1 where the older camera raw you are stuck with just embedded. I use embedded usually myself, so maybe that's not a big deal. Skin tones can be better sometimes under adobe's profile though. Right now there is a deal for $8 a month for lightroom and photoshop CC. Not a bad deal really. Then again if you are running a computer that still has CS6 it might be time to upgrade. My older i5 laptop struggles with k-3 files even. Nice photo of a very interesting bird. I know what it's like trying to get a photo of a bird that won't sit still. Our fantails are a bit like that. I am having two problems: Firstly, I am hopelessly 20th century, and am suffering from featuritis in Pentax's recent DSLRs. Secondly, my mind just does not work the same way as the writers/editors who prepare the indices in Pentax's manuals. I simply don't know what terms to use when searching an index. Both problems are no doubt my fault. It was dumb of me to search for "focus beep" instead of realizing that I needed to search under "sounds." In the meantime, thanks to everyone who responded. I am slowly mastering the K-1. At least, it is allowing me to think that I am mastering it. If you're trying to turn off auto-ISO, then presumably you want to set a particular ISO. And, if you do that, auto-ISO will indeed be turned off. You can turn it back on again by choosing "auto" on the ISO selection, rather than 100, or 800, or whatever you decide. What I might have to refer to the manual for is how to set the upper and lower limits for the auto-ISO range, but that's a rather different question. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

But if they didn't think users would need the information, why did they put it in the manual? On 11/20/2016 10:11 PM, P.J. Alling wrote: Which is exactly the way the K-5[II[s]] works. Maybe the manual writers for the K-1 assume that the only people who'd buy a K-1 at one time used a K-7, K-5 or K-3, so they didn't need the information. Re: The entrance - K1
I like it but it seems the sharpest part of the photograph are the foreground backlit leaves, in the upper right corner. By the comparison the rest seems a bit soft, which wouldn't even be noticeable except for those leaves.
