I will be in the USA from the 30th of October until the 19th of November,
mainly in Florids (tour of the Keys and Everglades) and to attend to
a computer related conference where I will give some presentations.

However, from the 12th of November I will be near NYC (Long Island actually)
and will be visiting Manhattan a few times for things like the Guggenheim and 
MOMA,
and probably a vistit to the B store as well, just for kicks :)

Also, as said, the first week of November I will be traveling in Florida,
so if anyone wants to meet up there, I can probably make that work too.


As a sidenote:
I was at a Pentax-100-year event in the Netherlands yesterday, very inspriring, 
with lots of Pentax afficiendos, lots of gear, and good presentatioins
from professional photographers using Pentax (yes they do exist)

And the new APCS prototype was on display (under glass :)
so I saw that too, no new information unfortunately, beyond what is already
shown on DPReview and similar sites, but it certainly 
looks promising. VERY much K1 like, just a bit smaller :)

(but with a fixed rear-screen, at least on this mock-up)

Looks like the Lijiang River in China. When I got to go to China in 2010 we took 
a cruise down that river Guilin to Yangshou County City. At the end of the 
cruise, as we were getting off the boat I saw  a similar fisherman there on the 
landing with two cormorants on a pole just like that.


My biggest regret from that trip is not getting a photo of him because our guide 
was hustling us along & I was afraid to linger long enough and get left behind.


The "boat" looks exactly like the boat the vegetable salesman was using to pole 
out into the river and meet the cruise boats coming down river. I did get some 
photos of him & I'll post one up to Flickr later.


If I ever win the local NPR station's pledge drive trips that allows you to pick 
the "destination of your choice", I know EXACTLY WHERE I'm going.

PESO: Stormy Weather

We're having a few days' vacation in Dunkirk and needed to fill up the
car for tomorrow's daytrip to England so we drove over to Ostend and had
a leisurely afternoon spotting more sites to take photos there.

It was quite windy and wet, with wind speeds up to force 9 and one
shower chasing the next. Took this shot in between two downpours.
