Darren,
I'm using the original firmware for the K-3.  Haven't upgraded anything yet.
But will directly as the new 1.4X arrives tomorrow.
And John,
I've never filled card #2, but doesn't that describe Rob's original complaint.
He filled card #1, replaced it, and it didn't transition back when
card #2 filled.

So I'm trying this again from gmail, hopefully it will be in Plain text mode.
I experienced some unexpected card slot behavior in San Diego.
I filled the 1st card and automatically moved to #2.
Then I took #1 card out and downloaded it to the laptop.
Card #2 took over, but when I replaced card #1, it stayed on #2.
I had to fiddle with the menu settings to get it back to #1.
I suspect the software transitions from #1 to #2, but has trouble
going back to #1 automagically.

I remember the Lockheed Electra.  After a couple of crashes where the
wings fell off,
they fixed them by drilling holes in the wings.  Reduced those vibrations.
We always thought it was the 'tear here' principle.

Not much focus would be needed and the snaps could be discrete.
I will tell you from experience photographing fast food drive-thru menu boards,
the post processing is a pain in the a--.  Get the mystery shoppers to do it.
Have them fill out forms with the pricing, one per store.

The FA35/2 comes around often.  It was available at B&H recently,
but I like the 31 Limited so much that I can never bring myself to buy it.
The one I'm proud of is the F28/2.8.  Not many of those around and very small.

Never met a Pentax lens that I didn't need.
Moved to a new house last month and the spare
bedroom is full of Pentax lenses (and cameras).
The 24, 30, and 28's are good substitutes for the 31mm.

No, the FA31 is an older screw drive AF lens and you don't have the
modern convenience of touching-up the focus.
I've pretty much lived on the AF results as is.

HD 15/4 flare Report

Below are two snapshots from the beach with the sun in frame.
I'm happy with how the lens handles it.
I've thrown in an un-spectacular sunset too.
This lens is fun to walk around with and the 6000x4000 pixels of the
K-3 astounds.

Stop taking so many pictures of the same scene.
Use some higher speed ISO settings.
We have no knowledge of the image processors you're using.

You've 'painted yourself into a corner' and won't enjoy photography
until you free yourself of all your restrictions.  Try things, it's free!
