Re: EXIF Data Availability?
That did it!! Thanks, Peter, Godfrey and Rod. (actually, I had stumbled onto it once, but couldn't recall the path). Jack --- Peter Lacus <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Jack, > > > I am using PSE 5. Jack, > I am using PSE 5. Re: EXIF Data Availability?
Every RAW file from the camera contains metadata, some of which is EXIF data. Every JPEG file from the camera contains EXIF metadata. The EXIF data is embedded in the image file, you need an application to view it. On Mac OS X, opening any JPEG from the camera with the Preview application allows me to use the command "Tools->Get Info" and browse all the embedded EXIF data. I don't have PSE5. In Photoshop CS2, for any open file you can use the command "File->File Info..." and a dialog will come up displaying the metadata, including the EXIF data. There are a lot of other utility programs available that will do the same thing. A quick search should find one for you in a hurry. It being available or not shouldn't be an issue given a simple file transfer or import. Pretty much the only way it can not be available is if it's specifically stripped from the file or not carried through by an editor/post processing application. Generally when you view at the "file information" using any decent image editing/viewing application the EXIF data will be available. -- Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~distudio//publications/ Pentax user since 1986, PDMLer since 1998 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
EXIF Data Availability?
I am using PSE 5. I'm wondering if EXIF data are available as a result of downloading RAW/jpg shots from a memory card. PSE 5 "HELP" defines it, but doesn't answer my question. IOW, if it's recorded, where do I find it? Low tech answer please. :) Thanks! Jack No need to miss a message. Get email on-the-go with Yahoo! Mail for Mobile.
