Re: Help with 6x7 battery
Paul, for portrait work, you might find the 165/2.8 to be ideal. It comes in early and late versions, and with or without a leaf shutter. The early version has the long grooves or flutes on the focussing ring, while the late version has the rubber checker pattern. Pat White - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Re: Help with 6x7 battery
Thanks Rob, It works. I had a roll of outdated tungsten film in the fridge, so I loaded that in. Everything works fine. Shutter sounds good. MLU works. I'm pleased. Now if someone would just enable a lens :-). Seriously, there was a 90/2.8 is it? last night, and I bid $250 before bed, but that didn't make the reserve. I'm now starting to think that maybe my first lens should be the 150/2.8. I would like to do some portrait photography with this camera. I also thought the 150 might be a good macro with an extension tube. Does anyone know how close it focuses without a tube? I know I'm eventually going to want either the 105 or 90, but they're a bit short for portraiture. I thought I'd eventually like to end up with the 55, 90, 150 and 400. I think I'd like the leaf shutter lens for high speed flash synch as well. Isn't it a 175? But I cant just rush our and buy them all (if I want to stay married :-). I have to try to find a good deal on each of them, and kind of sneak them in one at a time. (My wife noticed the 6x7 when it arrived today. It's kind of hard to miss. She didn't grumble. Maybe I've finally trained her properly;-) Paul Rob Studdert wrote: > > Hi Paul, > > The 28L battery will work, essentially you could tape 4 SR44 together as this > is what the battery is effectively. Hi Paul, The 28L battery will work, essentially you could tape 4 SR44 together as this is what the battery is effectively. BTW if the battery is the good (which should be indicated by illumination of the battery test lamp) the shutter will only work is the film counter is advanced. Open the camera back, wind the film counter past ...0 with your thumb and close the back before letting it go. Should be A OK then. Help with 6x7 battery
Unless there is a switch or something else of which I am not aware, the battery in my recently purchased 6x7 is dead. (I can't imagine you have to have film in the camera or a lens mounted to make the shutter work??) In any case, the battery check button does nothing and the shutter doesn't activate. The battery I removed is a Panasonic 4G13 lithium of 6.2 volts. The camera stores are closed for the night, but I checked in a drugstore and found a Duracell 28L that is physically identical, but is labeled 6.0 volts. Should this battery work? It doesn't. I'm going to get the correct replacement tomorrow, but I thought someone might be able to fill me in. Paul - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
