Hopefully it'll be a lot smaller by the time it reaches other countries. We've had a Japanese search and rescue team helping us here, it's heartbreaking for them to go home to this. Re: OT - Earthqake in Japan 8,9 on Richter
Fortunately Tokyo seems not to have been too badly hammered; the real battering, mostly tsunami, up north. Have heard from my Google colleagues that their Roppongi-hills office was shaken badly but is still functional aside from no elevators. The trains aren't running; anyone who's spent time in Tokyo is shaking their heads trying to imagine how that plays out, since they take 12 million or people or so to work and back every day. -T On Fri, Mar 11, 2011 at 12:05 AM, David Mann d...@multisport.net.nz wrote: On Mar 11, 2011, at 8:47 PM, AlunFoto wrote: Dunno if we have any members in Japan these days, but at least we can let our thoughts go out to both Pentax users and headquarters. Horrifying helicopter-shot footage of the Tsunami working its way across the countryside (and through a village) here: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=016_1299829101 It's not like a wave of water you can surf - it's a pile of wood/cars/garbage/trees/boats/mud and it just takes everything apart as it plows through.
