Frankly, I don´t find your posts very family friendly. You should have
put a warning in the subject field because I would not like my
children to see that grownups (?) use that kind of language.

But is there potential for your kids to go to jail for reading them?
The bottom line her Dag is that you were asked, quite politely, by several
members here to tag your posts with a nudity warning if clicking the link
would take them to a picture of a naked child.
You were told that in North America there was a very real possibility that
what you were posting could be misconstrued as child porn and that we wanted
a fair warning about what we were clicking on.
Your response, and this is a direct quote:

The responsibility is on your side, and as you never can know what is in
 the other end of an
internet link you have to be extremely careful.

I believe things devolved after you posted that bit of stupidity.
As a flaming asshole myself, I recognize an asshole when I am subjected to

The difference between us as far as this goes is that I have the good
manners to warn people of offensive content if they sensitize me to their
 needs.

If you don't want your kids offended by strong language, perhaps try to be a
 better person.
Until then, I stand by my opinion of you.

enclosing links that way does work with standards-compliant email
systems, but it depends on everything that handles the message being
compliant, which is often not the case

i'm using Thunderbird 3, and if i send myself a plain text email with
Content-Type: format=flowed with Cotty's exact URL, the link survives
the imposed line breaks; so assuming the list software isn't breaking
things, it should come through fine here:

http://www.swsracing.net/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/dsc_0327.1.jpg

however Cotty's emails don't have format=flowed set, and in such cases
Thunderbird (and probably some other email clients) breaks the URL,
failing to comply with the standard (this is a Thunderbird bug, not an
error by Cotty)

just to point out how variable things are, despite the fact you are
using Thunderbird 2.0, which normally sets proper In-Reply-To headers,
somehow every reply you make omits such headers and thus fails to thread
properly (again, no blame here, though there may be a setting at your
end involved)

I subscribe to the list in digest form and am not doing reply because
that would give RE: PDML Digest, Vol 43, Issue 84 as the subject. And
it still wouldn't thread properly.

It's easier for me to just compose a new message Re: whatever thread
I'm responding to.

Nice gallery Everyone! I love them all--most especially like

Brain Walter's Let me off--great light and composition
John Coyle's Vernacular Architecture--very interesting subject and
 composition is great
Frank's Excess--composition wonderful as is the rendering--Wow, stunning
 there
Thrainn's Traffic Signs Mark's When in Gnome Ken's Backseat Driver
 really
 made me giggle
 Paul's Walk on By--terrific
Bruce, are those your dogs? They are gorgeous. Love the shot.
 Dave Brooks--nice pose of Liz!

Thanks Christine. The ferry trip was about as smooth as it gets so this
guy had a very sensitive stomach!

Overall a very good (and much larger than usual!) gallery. Keep it up,
guys! We should have a 'Vernacular' theme every year.

I really liked Ann's Court Street Station, Frank's Excess, the
confusion of Thrainn's Traffic Signs, Ira's White Sands Expression,
Dave's My First Pose and I got a laugh out of Ken's Back Seat Driver
(well spotted).

Cheers

enclosing links that way does work with standards-compliant email
systems, but it depends on everything that handles the message being
compliant, which is often not the case

i'm using Thunderbird 3, and if i send myself a plain text email with
Content-Type: format=flowed with Cotty's exact URL, the link survives
the imposed line breaks; so assuming the list software isn't breaking
things, it should come through fine here:

http://www.swsracing.net/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/dsc_0327.1.jpg

however Cotty's emails don't have format=flowed set, and in such cases
Thunderbird (and probably some other email clients) breaks the URL,
failing to comply with the standard (this is a Thunderbird bug, not an
error by Cotty)

just to point out how variable things are, despite the fact you are
using Thunderbird 2.0, which normally sets proper In-Reply-To headers,
somehow every reply you make omits such headers and thus fails to thread
properly (again, no blame here, though there may be a setting at your
end involved)

It will work, but not if the line wraps and sees a before the rest
of the url. If the second half is not underlined, the wrapped portion
is not connected.

In this case, someone in the chain used the out of date to denote
the quote level, causing a fail.

As a flaming asshole myself, I recognize an asshole when I am subjected to
one.
The difference between us as far as this goes is that I have the good
manners to warn people of offensive content if they sensitize me to their

If you don't want your kids offended by strong language, perhaps try to be a
better person.

Until then, I stand by my opinion of you.
