Well, methinks you walked right back into a car thread
LOL That dude with a hat looks to be non other than LJK
Setright, the noted automotive journalist and writer. Dug
up a pic of him in an old Motorsport mag I had stashed away,
and damn, I bet that's him. He was younger then, as the pic
was from quite a few years ago ... still, the resemblance is
too close to dismiss the possibility.

It's a car engine heavily illuminated - the shot was grabbed at the 2002
UK Motor Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. Only time
for 2 frames before the chap moved off. I kept the guy behind in the drop
as it would have been a bit tight if he'd gone, and I don't do Digital

Good point Eleanor, now that you mention it, it is very distracting,
isn't it. I't a heavily illuminated car engine. I had no choice but to
leave it in as i wanted the handkerchief in the pocket to stay. I suppose
a closer crop would lose it but then one would wonder what the
reflections were in the glasses. Oh fiddlesticks. I should have left it
full frame!

Thanks

Great Scott! It was press day, so the probability is very high. Not many
 with a beard like that.

Somewhere in my collection of motorcycle literature, I have a picture of
him (with only a goatee) on some hairyarsed Triton, wearing laceup
aviator boots, a Norfolk jacket, jodphurs, gauntlets, pudding basin and
goggles. One of the few Englishmen with style.
