Very cool Christine, it has a very Ralf like industrial feel about it
but with the addition of the repetition of many compositional elements
and striking contrast.

Re: PAW Week 5-2013

2013-02-09 Thread Christine Aguila
Thanks everyone! Funny thing about last week: I only took a total of 6
frames--3 for two different subjects. I did shoot a bit more this week though
and have my PAW which I'll post tomorrow.

I've been doing small prints every two weeks--get two prints off of one sheet
of paper--and I can see I need a bit of calibration. The deep shadows are
coming up a bit darker than I'd like on the print than showing on my monitor.
I plan to get a calibrator in the next few months. Can't do it right now, but
I will. Colors look pretty good though.

Cheers, Christine

Like he says. Your others this year are ok, show some risk taking, etc. This is
the first one that grabs me. The starkness of the modern buildings, the
humaness (?) of the lone figure, the contrast with the old-tech El train . . .
it all works well for me.

You managed to convey what's happening here. Well done. Back in the sixties, we
just had to wait for it all to melt!

Hi!

I first clicked on the link and then thought to myself - good PS work.
But then I read the story.

You're a lucky man, Peter. This is a shot that many air-addicted
people would like...

It is by all means excellent.

Well, it may not have been intended, but it sure is a cool shot!

What is that, some sort of trainer or something? I keep thinking Chipmunk,
but I'm sure their wings were above the fuselage, not below like that one.

Whatever, I really like that shot. The moon is amazing!

cheers,

I haven't got a title for this one, since the one I had in mind is a
blatant lie to anyone
who has even a trace of a clue.

This is the center 3rd of a 35mm frame. I was at an air show and near the
end of the
day I noticed the moon hanging in the sky just about where a number of the
planes
taking off would have to pass, so this isn't quite a grab shot, but it
wasn't quite planned
either.

Hello Peter,

I like the shot and don't mind the title:) It is a good composition,
and the glittering tail gives an adequate metal feeling to it.
