Ahh I know dehydration a bit too well :) I've found that drinking too much too
soon will cause me to just pee it all out so instead I'll fill a bottle and sip
regularly for the rest of the evening, refilling as needed. When it's really
bad it'll take 30 mins to an hour of this for the nausea to go away.

Yes when you're exercising every day the stretches become essential, especially
at the end of each session so you did well on your trip. Stretches are best
when the muscles are warmed up - I do mine as soon as I get in from my workouts.

It sounds like a bit of recovery is in order so I think you might now have an
excuse to sit on the couch and watch the Commonwealth Games. And I'm sure that
beer probably contains plenty of electrolytes to help those cramping muscles.
Maybe add some sodium from a couple of packets of crisps too :D

Cheers,
Dave

The shelter seems to have been there for a good long time:

http://theclaydons.org.uk/the-history/photographs-of-botolph-and-east-claydon

A bit of googlage tells me it's called the Mushroom Seat, in a village whose
bell-tower is called The Mushroom, and whose pub is called the Mushroom Club.

It makes me wonder which is the local psychotropic drug of choice.

It'll be subject to a tree preservation order certainly. In England
that's the means of protecting trees that are of significant aesthetic
or historical importance. It's in the village of East Claydon,
Buckinghamshire.

I'm very pleased with the Fuji X range. I've got an X-Pro1 and the
X-E1 as backup. It's smaller than the Pro, so is convenient for
carrying in the bike bar bag. The Fuji prime lenses are of excellent
quality; there are no fast zooms though, but I can live with that. I
have no regrets dumping my Pentax kit. The few Pentax primes that I
have kept work really well with a cheap-ish adaptor.

From his response, it sounds as if Bob should have caught the bus home...

That has to be the oddest bus stop I've seen. Is the tree heritage

Your opinions on the X-E1? If Pentax doesn't come up with something

Re: PESO: Strange object in the countryside...

2014-07-21 Thread Bob W-PDML
That's a very nice shot. It was a really enjoyable ride, and a masterclass in
puncture repair.

Despite my relaxed look and my experiences in France, and despite me poopooing
the 9-10 miles each way between Marylebone and home, I underestimated the ride.
I didn't drink enough while we were out, so by the time i got home i was quite
dehydrated, and drank 1.5 litres of milk, 1 litre of chocolate milk, half a
litre of gazpacho, and ate 3 oranges before I felt right.

And my habit in France had been to do a full set of stretches morning and
evening, which I didn't do yesterday, so I was woken in the night by severe leg
cramps, which forced me to do the stretches at about 1:30 am.

Hope you're in good form this morning.
