PESO - Pre-race Strategy Part II (messenger content)

2012-12-26 Thread knarftheria...@gmail.com
About five or ten minutes before the start of the race he participants get
manifests with the checkpoints (in this case, grocery stores) listed. Then
there is a bit of a frenzy as everyone figures out the exact location of the
checkpoints and routing:

 http://mondociclismo.blogspot.ca/2012/12/pre-race-strategy-part-ii.html?m=1

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this race started at Toronto's Eaton Centre,
our largest downtown shopping mall.

Hope you enjoy. Comments always welcome.

Racers have very little time to figure out exactly where the

truth, when shooting slow-shutter pans of a car, it seems to be most

center is the result of the camera movement matching the speed of
that center point. So, yes there are wrong places:-). Although Frank

No doubt about it. I call it the Cylinder of Focus. It's the
cylinder of points that are in focus throughout the pan. I've got quite
a few shots where I got the timing a bit wrong and ended up with the
rear or the front of the car on the cylinder instead of the driver or

That ball is going to bounce off the back of that glove's webbing and
bop him in the noggin! LOL

This is such a great series you have here, Bruce, and this shot may be
the best yet (although they're all of such high quality it's hard to
make such a blanket statement).

Terrific photo!!

cheers,

Great action shot. Right moment caught well.

Too bad some of the road at the top couldn't be cropped off, but then (to fit
a standard size) you'd have to crop too much off on the left. I find it a bit
distracting, but not overly so.

Nice one!

RE: PESO - The Race

2006-06-29 Thread Shel Belinkoff
Hi Bruce,

First, I love the shot and the way you caught the action. You've got a
lock on Little Leaguer's facial expressions ;-))

I'll say the same thing as with your previous couple of shots: this one
looks a little washed out to me. I'm starting to wonder why there's that
consistent pattern. Maybe a scosh too much exposure, ,maybe the Sigma
isn't particularly contrasty, maybe your monitor ... but each of the last
three or four pics seems to have been able to benefit from a slight taming
of the highlights and adding a little more saturation, less brightening, or
a slight curves adjustment. Of course, it could be my monitor, but when
you've made the adjustments they were obvious here, and looked quite
similar to the sample I'd sent you.

Shel

I mostly like it. The one thing that bothers me a bit is that her
eyes are neither looking at her work or looking at me - the viewer.
Kind of like caught in between. Shot just a little earlier or later

I do like the angle that you shot at and the general composition.
