Hi!

Cathy, Reuben, Rick, and I took a drive up to Petaluma one fine September
afternoon, and, having a slight case of the munchies, stopped at an AW for
a little snack. The old Spotmatic was handy, and this was one of the snaps
that resulted that afternoon.

Actually, I decided to try the new Spot Healing Brush in PS CS2, and that's
why I was looking for an old pic. The brush is great!

Tech details: Spotmatic, Super Tak 50/1.4, Tri-X souped in D-76.

Feels good to be working with some old film pics. It's so relaxing to spot
and adjust while listening to some sixties tunes - in this case The
Shirelles singing my favorite song of all time, Will You Still Love Me
Tomorrow.

Indeed, spot healing brush is very useful... Funny they introduced it
first in Elements 3.0 and before CS2 came out, CS was lacking behind
Elements ;-).

Shel, perhaps I am too square a person, but the fact that the counter
passes right through her neck distracts and disturbs me... I am not sure
if I could deal with it differently than you did, but anyway, it is
there and I don't like it.

Merely being brutal and honest.

Agreed. I play songs buy artists like Joe Cocker, Melanie, The Bee Gees,
Mr and Mrs Garfunkel, The Hollies,
Otis Redding, Maria Callas, etc. And works by Segovia, Mozart,
Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and a few others.

I find the Shirelles recording I have of 'Love me Tomorrow' a bit thin.
I also play stuff like the Rodrigo
Concerto, a lot of classic guitar stuff and even the Beatles once in a
while. But despite an almost omnivorous
appetite for music there are some artists to whom I cannot listen. Elvis
Presley is top of that list.

I missed the original. Would you mind reposting it? I'd like to
compare the two.

Hi, I took the napkin holder out. Instead of cloning and cutting and
pasting, I used the patch tool. Pretty quick and painless - almost too
easy ;-))

So, whattaya think? It looks better to my eye.

The ultimate in lazy ass photography. Let's not worry about good composition
anymore, we can fix whatever we don't like in Photoshop.

Shel,

Hey Bill,

I was just acceding to the requests of others. For the most part I don't
care for the fix-it-in-Photoshop approach, but it was a good exercise for
me to see what ~could~ be done. My comment that it's almost too easy
might have allowed a clue as to my feelings.

If you're judging me for doing this, remember it was an exercise, not a
general approach to photography.

Cathy, Reuben, Rick, and I took a drive up to Petaluma one fine September
afternoon, and, having a slight case of the munchies, stopped at
an AW for
a little snack. The old Spotmatic was handy, and this was one of
the snaps
that resulted that afternoon.

Actually, I decided to try the new Spot Healing Brush in PS CS2,
and that's
why I was looking for an old pic. The brush is great!

Tech details: Spotmatic, Super Tak 50/1.4, Tri-X souped in D-76.

Feels good to be working with some old film pics. It's so
relaxing to spot
and adjust while listening to some sixties tunes - in this case The
Shirelles singing my favorite song of all time, Will You Still Love Me
Tomorrow.

That was the one and only time I ever saw Cathy. She was a friend of
Reuben's ...

I'm working on another snap in which she's got a big smile ;-))
