Re: PESO - Pond Hockey
Thanks Steve. I never played pond hockey growing up in Montreal. It was all outdoor hockey though. Winters were cold enough - with very few thaws - that we could play from December to February. Thanks to everyone who commented. Sorry for slow reply. Phone crashed and just now getting K9 installed for plain-text emails. Really pleased to hear from you, Frank! I, for one missed your photos. Your last one reminded me of also my childhood; I was lucky to be found under 2 meters of snow! Re: PESO - Pond Hockey
Great to see you back, Knarf, and I like the pic! I never played pond hockey, but when we were kids we used to skate on a long pond on my grandmother's farm outside Albany, NY. The photo doldrums have affected me, too--I shot 7 (uninspired) frames the whole month of January; but went out shooting at twilight Saturday. Everything has been dark and drab around here, not even any winter scenery. Rick On Feb 7, 2015, at 7:30 PM, knarf wrote: > Back after a long hiatus. Nice to have you back. Agreed. Interestingly, on a lake just west of me, they're holding an annual Pond Hockey tournament. The organizers cleared spots for 19 hocker rinks, with teams from the midwest attending , resulting in a weekend championship. Re: PESO - Pond Hockey
That’s nice, Frank—has an intriguing yesteryear look to it. I haven’t been inspired either. My plan is to clean up my Lightroom catalogue, review where I’ve been with my photography, make a few photo books, and hopefully set some new skill goals, which would take me in new and exciting directions—lol—well, a girl can dream, right? :-) Cheers, Christine > On Feb 7, 2015, at 6:30 PM, knarf wrote: > > Back after a long hiatus. Re: PESO - Pond Hockey
Good to see you back. Reminds me of my early years as well. It's nice to see kids having fun outside without it having to be organized. There's certainly value in all the organization, but there's value it just going out and the participants doing the "organizing". A friend of mine was working with a group of kids and he said "OK guys, choose up sides" and they just stood around and didn't know what to do. -p On 2/7/2015 6:30 PM, knarf wrote: Back after a long hiatus.
