Re: 67mm filter on 49mm lens...?
I think I look too young to have money. People generally think I am about 8-10 years younger. But I had seen the Pentax MZ-30 brochure and nothing else was going to make me happy. Except the MZ-7? :) I hadn't thought that far ahead. Maybe next year. Or maybe MZ-S, or LX even. Money is no problem with all the hours of call and overtime lately. We are so short-staffed because no-one will come to our tiny backwoods city. Not officially, AFAIK, but sometimes Pentax will clear out some old stock by selling it to a dealer for a great price. Generally the spiffs are quite good on stuff like that. If spiffs=profit, yes that's what I thought. The MZ-30 actualy has more functions. The only advantage of the MZ-50 is that it will let you fire the shutter with non-A lenses. Thankyou. I was sure it didn't have more functions, and I just won't buy the non-A lenses. Nope, spiffs are the little bonuses that camera companies give employees when they sell one of their cameras. Not every camera has a spiff, but if an employee is really pushing one model over another that might be a sign that there's a really good spiff on it. :) chris - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. THANKYOU. Don't know who Rfsindg is though. I think you mis-understood something here Bob. Good thing I don't ever go to Auckland bars :) Note the claim to hate "all-blacks", not "all blacks". The hyphen is important, and suggests that this was a reference to the New Zealand rugby team. This list is multi racial and multi cultural, and the better for it. We are not just a bunch of 'old white boys' who's ancestors were Europeans. There are no racial connotations in the post you're referring to. The all- blacks is the name of the NZ rugby team (a virtually unknown sport in the US, I believe). The name comes from their black uniform. It doesn't sound very politically correct, but it's not as bad as our soccer team (the all-whites, who wear white uniforms). I saw an advertisement here for a food product which proudly stated that it's "what All Blacks are made of". I'm surprised they didn't get complaints. Cheers, - Dave David A. Re: 67mm filter on 49mm lens...?
A Minolta was recommended to me. I think because it was cheaper. I think I look too young to have money. People generally think I am about 8-10 years younger. But I had seen the Pentax MZ-30 brochure and nothing else was going to make me happy. It was a manual Minolta too. Probably thought I was still at school. I get that a lot. Then another shop, the guy tried to tell me the MZ-50 had just been re-released (6 months ago). Not sure if this is true. He seemed really keen to pawn off an MZ-50 instead of the MZ-30 I had told him I wanted to look at. He told me he thought it had more functions, but didn't know what they were. It was NZ$100 cheaper, but that didn't impress me. This happened to me once too. A saleman told me to switch to Nikon when I asked for the price of some Pentax stuffs. But that was when I was still in Melbourne. Now here in Vancouver, Pentax is widely accepted. 8-) __ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Hi, Thanks for the help, guys. One concern I have is the availability of 67mm filters. The camera shop guys told me 67mm lenses are out of production and therefore 67mm filters will gradually be phased out. Any idea how true this is? Kelvin __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
