You're right. It's a very good lens, which is surprising since its pretty inexpensive. $200? That's peanuts for a decent 28-105. I was skeptical when I first bought one. I fully expected to own it for a few weeks and then sell it off in favor of the power-zoom version. I was wrong. I sold the PZ version. The 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 is 1/2 stop faster, half the weight, and at least just as sharp, IMHO. And its such a useful focal length.

I hesitate to mention it, (since I want one but have been dithering) but you can try Henry's http://www.henrys.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/PageDisplay?dest=frames. jspcurrency=USDstoreId=10001 but at ~300USD, they aren't cheap. -Original Message- From: Don Sanderson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, June 02, 2005 12:45 PM To: PDML Subject: WTB: FA28-105/3.2-4.5 Does anyone have one to sell? Or know who has them in stock? BH and Adorama both have them back-ordered. :-( TIA Don

Dario, Don't take it as a disregard to digital posts bearing hard factual data. I do appreciate your comparisons between dslrs. I specified digital rant and expressed my regret for having interesting but too classic topics silenced by the digital noise. To which I did contribute myself too. :o( Servus, Alin Dario wrote: DB2 Alin, in principle I could agree with you. However, we are in the eye of the DB2 digital storm now, so other interesting topics we discussed and appreciated DB2 for years can get shadowed today. How could it be different? Don't we live DB2 here, now? DB2 Now I can jump to the Spotmatic discussion group to write about the old DB2 Takumars, and that will be interesting too. DB2 I believe a strong interest don't minimize another one and other good stuff. DB2 It's just the right moment for discussing digital, better than ever before.

i have never thought so. it is good, but not great. my recent experiments with various of my lenses on the *istD make it clear me me that lens quality is even more important with the camera than with a film camera. it's clearly better than the $70 lenses, but quite a bit less quality than the top FA* lenses.
