For those in the Eastern U.S. do keep us posted as you can on how things
are going and what not. Keep safe.

Jeffery

Already gone from the southeast. The weather report says wrap-around
moisture will give us alternating sunshine cloudy/rainy skies the
rest of the day, with a high temperature below 50deg F.

I hope it's no worse for the rest of you.

I keep having to remember that, from the Weather Channel POV, Virginia
is in the Northeast.

2012-10-29 Thread David Parsons
South of Boston here. The morning was fairly quiet, mostly wind and
light wind. Wind has picked up, and it's raining harder. We've
passed the noon high tide, and not much flooding from what I saw in my
travels. Only saw one tree down, and small branches.

Re: OT: Keep us posted

2012-10-29 Thread Mark Roberts
News says there are 172,000 homes without power in the Boston area.
We're (obviously) not one of them. All the power lines in our
neighborhood are underground. Of course, if they're fed from lines
that are above ground and *those* get taken out we're still stuck...

It seems there are huge variations in storm intensity within
relatively short distances. It hasn't seemed too ferocious here so far
but a friend less than 4 miles away reported it as being very
frightening just a short while ago.

Local meteorologists predict the worst to come at around 9:00 this
evening and lessening very gradually through the night.
