Re: PESO stranded
Thanks Christine. It was more of an annoyance and an expense than a danger, but I suppose it could have gotten ugly. Total financial damage was about $500. An expensive Sunday. From: P N Stenquist On the way home from last week's trip to the DIA, I hit an errant tire and wheel at about 75 mph. Blew out both right tires. Had to wait two hours for a flatbed. So I played with my Leica. This is on Portra 160, scanned on an Epson 3200 flatbed. The lens is the Summaron 35/35. I think it was f8 @ 1/50th. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=11122068&size=lg Glad to know you survived the experience with nothing worse than property damage. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

The car swerved to a halt with the rear wheel at an angle of about 20-30 degrees off vertical. It took most of the day to get service truck out to load up the car, another hour to get to the nearest sizable town and a further two and a half hours to get another truck to carry the car and us home. Like you, I filled in the time photographing things. Anything! Strangely, though, I failed to photograph the car. Just look at the exif data...my bad, this was film... What a bummer! The camera/lens look like they work. I'm glad that you were ok and suffered no damage to yourself. -- Best regards, Bruce Friday, June 11, 2010, 6:26:36 PM, you wrote: PNS> On the way home from last week's trip to the DIA, I hit an errant tire PNS> and wheel at about 75 mph. Re: PESO: Stranded in Newcastle
Dave, John, Frank Thanks for the comments - the ship is still stuck fast, by the way. They're going to try again on Saturday night. Someone actually put it up for sale on EBay - the auction got pulled when the bidding reached $16 million.. Quoting David Savage <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Those are pretty neat Brian. I would have liked it more if I had a slightly higher vantage point but the public exclusion zone put paid to that :-( Cheers Brian ++ Brian Walters Western Sydney, Australia http://members.westnet.com.au/brianwal/SL/ http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/brianwalters -- Finally - A spam blocker that actually works. http://www.bluebottle.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
