Once again, am I going to need a form letter? What is the point of this
Cotty? You think that you unsubscribing will punish me? You actually just
threatened me. That's not very acceptable behaviour. I'd in fact say
threatening someone is worse than swearing on the board! Before this email,
you wrote another one to me telling me to keep my opinions to myself, simply
because you did not agree with them. Of course it was ok for you to post
your opinion. What is with the attitude? Relax a bit.

For the rest of the list members: Why did I bother with the apology? I'd
really like someone to actually tell me on the board. Seems no one has read
the apologies 10^2 I have posted or other peoples similar response, as I am
still getting mailings about it. Why repeat it? What will Cotty gain from
sending this? Is it a hatred of me? Is threatening to quit an attempt to
get the long-time members against me as well? Does anyone have an answer?
Please all valid questions I hope you can all answer, especially the 'Why
did I bother with the apology?'

Can a few of you send this to Cotty or the board again so Cotty can read it?
I really don't know why he hates me for not wanting to hear 100 times
the same thing about a DSLR or the fact I don't see one coming or don't want
one. Sure I can ask to stop with the DSLR stuff can't it? It's what I
think, it's an opinion, and of course, the biggest thing is no one is forced
to do what I say.

Man, I hate to send these messages time after time after time. Does the
group want to focus on me despite what I say? Do I keep the kid who swears
loudly in class inside and miss recesses for that day? I fit it fitting.
Do I want them writing the WHOLE dictionary as punishment, instead of
writing out 3 pages of the letter L in the dictionary? No, 3 pages of L is a
lot and a fitting punishment. Do I request suspension for the child from
the principal? Of course not.

Does anyone understand this?

I live in Richmond, BC, and am a father of 8 children ranging from 9 to 22. At
present, I have two children in Elementary (The board advocates Child Centred
Education) and 3 at High School.

So far, my experience of North American education has led me to the well
justified conclusion, that it is screwed up. Educators have screwed up Canadian
society(American too, for that matter) with their naive Socialist Fabian
Philosophies. Child Centred Education does not work, and never will. All it
does is produce union fodder, and turns kids into informants(often against their
families), and does not prepare them for the real world. No wonder they turn to
drugs.
I don't know where you guys stand on these things, but I don't mean it
personally. Before, I would have used a stronger word than screwed, but that's
not Christian.

I would not be a teacher for anything, the stress levels must be unbelievable.

Sounds like you are quite uninformed and a little slow mentally. My
statement had nothing remotely to do with condoning that language at that
age, the sentence just stated a true fact of life. Don't put words into my
mouth and don't read so much into statements, as at least in this case, you
were plain wrong. If you are American, you DO have a major problem in
public education, in Canada we are FAR different. Don't make conclusions
based on false pretences in any case.

But hey, this has been going for a good while, with lots of posts, you just
jumping on the wagon and looking for trouble? I said something, I
immediately apologized, and I've still got people coming up with emails
about it. What point does your email or any other serve? Nothing. Except

No no, you are very correct, classrooms and playgrounds are unbelievable
when compared even to my youth. No, I've not swore in front of them. I am
to set an example. I approach those that use it (when I can catch 'em) and
tell them that it is not acceptable talk in school or any respectable
place...or something like that.

So, my usage in here. I'm sorry, I have read there were youths on this.
(But so young?) Would I swear in front of teenagers? Yes, as long as I was
not in a teaching role at a secondary school. But that's side-tracking. I
honestly do forget that there are any sort of youths in here, so language is
not such as issue. Since there are youths here, I will make my best attempt
not to use 'foul' language.

And your point on kids? I'm in education, I see 5yr old kids swearing.

Interesting that I'm answering your question! :) I think with just about
any decent email client you can create a 'rule' and have to redirected,
deleted, blocked, whatever. I have a rule set up in mine, I created a PDML
mail folder and make a rule that anything with the [EMAIL PROTECTED]
goes directly into that folder, so my inbox is for more
personal/professional things. I'm just using the latest MS OE.

  Consider yourself filtered.

Just out of curiosity, what filtering is being used by the
list gods? eg. a simple entry in sendmail access hash table
 or Spam Assasin etc

 Kind regards

Geez, have people ignored my apology email and still want to comment? It's
a dead issue as far as I'm concerned. I was pissed off at the time for one
thing within the PDML and another personal one. I wrote the message as a
poor joke. Unfortunately, I did include a 'crude' word, and didn't even
think of it. Someone on the list emailed me privately and politely what I
had done, and I immediately sent off an apology for the language. This all
happened within minutes. The weird thing is that an email I wrote on
another topic, and then my apology email came in before the offending email
itself. Odd. Anyhow, like I said, the language, I apologize, the rest of
the message was a poor angry joke, as I beleive (and I hope I have a right
to my opinion??) no one at Pentax is watching let alone care what we
write.

Dude, this isn't a good way to win friends and influence people through
wit and charm, not to mention, when trying to determine if someone from
the corporate office is around, this probably isn't the techique that'll
 flush them out.

I try not even to use the words damn, hell, or even of all things
suck since I realized there are at least two teenagers on this list. And
even though I'm sure they all know the words, I doubt their parents would
want me to encourage that sort of behaviour.
