Dave - several of the photos I pointed to recently were
80-200/2.8 shots.

See
http://home.earthlink.net/~smh645/NewShots/imageIndex.html
I must say I am amazed everytime I use this lens. I just
wish I were strong enough to be able to carry it for any
length of time...

I am afraid I cannot comment on your other questions. I look
through the viewfinder, I don't look at it. That approach
can be a failing or a blessing...

Just wondering, anyone of the *istD owners use the Pentax 80-200 f2.8 or the
Sigma 70-200
(210??)f2.8 on the camera yet.Comments of image qualiy, especially the later.
Also what film camera can you liken the viewfinder to in terms of brightness, information
and barrel
distortion.The later my main worry.

As always,thanks in advance

It does sound as though your camera is faulty, but I am saying this from
the standpoint of a user, not a technician. Hopefully, it is something
simple like a mis-aligned screen, but I would advise getting somebody
qualified to look at it.

The PZ-1, or all my lenses are out of wack.Once i move my eye a tenth of
a mm,its blurry
and the
finder info is also very fuzzy. There is only a very tiny area dead
centre that is ok,but
then were my
eye is,i cannot see the right side of the finder info very well, but its
focused.
I just wanted to make sure the *istD did not have this behavure,as
someone mentioned it
was on par
with a PZ-1.

Were would one suggest a starting point to look at,focus screen, prism
housing??

Hi Mark.
Yes i just reread my post.I did not describe that just right.
I was wondering what,if any, distortion, was in the finder, like the type
you would see if
you had
transitional zoom glasses(like me)and if you move your head side to side
you get a
distorted,fuzzy
view.
My D1 and D2h have almost 0 distortion if i move my eyes around the
finder.The PZ-1 has a
tremendous amount.
If its like the later,i doubt i''ll look at it.

Thanks again Mark

the lens with film and
like it just as well with the *ist-D.

In regards to the finder - it's adequately bright, I guess I'd put it
roughly on par with my Pz-1p. As for barrel distortion - I don't know
that
I've ever noticed that in terms of the finder itself on any
camera. Wouldn't that be something determined by the lens?
