Bergen?
Jolly good.
I work near Bergen, (live about 250 km away). The city is nice, very nice,
and there is plenty of interesting nature in the area. And the people there?
First class. Opinions on them vary a lot, I myself find them nice and
friendly (a lot less abusive then myself). If you start talking with one of
them, asking about the city, he will probably spend a week or two showing
you around ;-) A typical Bergenser is very proud of his city.

2005-06-30 Thread Tim Øsleby
Off course it could be a little while.
First you have to pack your gear.
And then, travel near an hour by plane ;-)

Now I am joking. But the original idea was rather spontaneous, yes, but I
am partly serious.
A PDML happening in Bergen might be a winner.
The seed is planted. Let us see what comes out of it.

Stay tuned folks...

Dunno if this piping up is part of your dreams, Cotty, but tonight I'll be

To the uninformed, what Cotty calls the FiddlyBits is another derivation from
the ubiqutous Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Readers/listeners may recall
that Slartibartfast had endless fun doing all the fiddly bits of designing
the Norwegian coastline.

Driving the west coast isn't any fun in winter anyways, all the interesting
mountain passes are closed by then.

Seriously, though, Bergen is a very photogenic spot. Having lived there for 7
years, I should know. :-)

Tim, I'm very much game for this. Bergen is reasonably easy to reach both by
train, plane, boat, and car. It may indeed be a very suitable location for a
NoPDML.

Oslo is far from the fjords, how about a PDML western Norway?

Don't worry; there is no panic here, not at all. I do appreciate your
warped
sense of humour, Cotty, don't worry. The whole Rubbish issue has been a
joke for me, as for you, from the start.
But I will probably try to reshoot at the spot later. If the light is any
good, when I pass.

Yes please, I would dearly love to see some more. I found the fjords to
be one of the most inspiring moments of my life when I was there a couple
of years ago. The scale of the mountains in relation to the sea is
difficult to convey...

Jostein keeps tempting me back, and we will return at some point. PDML
OSLO on standby...

The last post is just what came out of my twisted mind after noticing that
there have been a many Norwegian pictures lately. Of some strange reason,
this fact connected with what you said about rubbish. I like to play with
words, even though my English fails me now and then. Don't know why, but
the
post was what came out of the process. I can't promise this won't happen
again, it's the way I am.

We're on the same wavelength. And your English is much better than my
Norwegian. I can say (phonetically) 'shlickeypot' which I gather is a
kitchen utensil for scraping food out of pans. When I say it repeatedly,
I get big smiles from Jostein's daughter and that's good enough for me:

ta ta for now

RE: GESO: Aker Brygge, Oslo, Norway

2005-06-28 Thread Tim Øsleby
This is a sweet(?) little study of the most modern parts of Oslo.
BTW. Please say hello to Ulla from me ;-)

(This first sentence is on topic, next sentence doesn’t make any sense, the
rest is just rubbish from a raving Viking, be warned. In other words, if you
don’t share my out of place humour, just stop reading)

I see one thing clearly now. PDML is being cooped by Norwegian pictures.
Imagine, there are four millions of us, and we are all related. Some of us
seem to be civilised, but that’s just varnish.

That could explain why Cotty one moment is giving me credit for my
Norwegian Wood, and 3, I repeat, three minutes later, tells me it is
rubbish. I did take into consideration that it was coming from an obviously
confused mans tongue. But it still confused me a bit.
This I will regret writing later. He (Cotty) will probably smack me directly
where it hurts most, in my defocused plant field.

This leads me to another concern of mine. Frank gets a lot of beating here,
almost every time somebody submits something OOF, the comments refers to his
last name.
Self centred as I am, I suggests another term describing a related
phenomena: Timish, like in rubbish.
The definition for this could be a compositional element what is
distracting mainly because it is out of focus.
A perhaps even better definition could be a defocused compositional element
that could end up coursing a battlefield at PDML

At the end I would like to draw attention my rewritten signature.

I was mostly focusing (pun intended) on architecture and art.
The lady with the pink scarf is Ulla, a Norwegian friend of mine.
