It was 78 degrees (F) here in Raleigh yesterday. Even with the heat off,
it got so hot in the house I had to turn the air conditioner back on.

Seventy degrees (F) is more the norm around here for this time of year.
Winter doesn't really begin to show up until mid-January.

Beautiful shot, Christine!

We're visiting relatives in Connecticut and Westchester NY, and it's

Best to you and Darrel for the holidays.

I hesitated to click on that link at first because I misread it as

Happy holidays to you all - and may 2012 be better and happier than all
our wildest dreams.

Just finished 2nd dinner - a friend showed up late and we would not let
him feel alone at the table... and my son is wondering if Santa will
leave something here - we're at my parents'. On the down side, could not
reach my daughter on the phone. Keep saying no news is good news, but
all the same I'd rather hear her saying she's well. Anyway, let's wait
Santa... maybe he's bringing something with my name on it.

Cheers!!!

Seriously however, it's been a great pleasure meeting you and other

Thanks, Frank. I got a shot of one with antlers, but a fence was behind
him, so I didn't use it for the holiday card. We saw 5 deer Christmas Eve
in the nature center, which used to be a tuberculosis center. It's right on
Pulaski Ave. in between Peterson Bryn Mawr Avenues in Chicago.

Anyway, the doe a buck were outside the nature center wanting to get
inside the nature center, and when we told the attendant in the field house,
she said that if they really want to get in they'll jump the fence! The 3
we saw inside the nature center were preoccupied with eating out of the bird
feeders. Then one jumped a smaller wooden fence, but I missed it because I
couldn't move fast enough for good position because we were literally shin
deep in snow. It was a lovely way to spend a few hours on Christmas Eve.

Hope you had a great holiday! Cheers, Christine
