Re: PESO San Antonio Lights

2021-11-27 Thread Corey Leopold
That is a nice shot, I like the snow scene. I assume that is a somewhat
rare occurrence in Raleigh?

One can pretty easily find variants of my picture, it is taken from the top
of a parking garage and by just being observant you can realize that would
make for a pretty good place to get some shots. You just have to be
willing to go do it, I've never been bothered by security or anything like
that though, which would be a concern for some.

The shot isn't really reflective of the San Antonio skyline, most other
tall buildings are behind this shot, including the Tower Life building
completed in 1929, which was the tallest building west of the
Mississippi when completed, and the newly completed Frost Tower first large
downtown office building built since 1988, plus several other large
buildings.

I don't actually have a full skyline shot, but have been wanting to get one.

Yeah, but not all of us here on the list are so privileged.

And even in New York I'm sure there are some views that are MORE ICONIC
than others; scenes that EVERY photographer ... if he/she is going to

How many photos of the Brooklyn Bridge have you taken over the years?
Have you ever found the time, the place, the angle of view & the perfect

And there's a whole other world outside of New York City. I KNOW you

I don't comment on most of the photos posted here, but y'all should know

So, what are the rest of y'all's iconic scenes, the ones that aren't

Yes this is true, but it also isn't downtown and like the Pentagon is low
rise (4 stories) just has a very horizontal spread. And it is on a campus
that if you didn't know better you would think it was Military.

I think the dynamic range is better, but I believe Larry was right, the old
one also isn't in great focus, after he said that I went and looked back at
others from that night and they were much better focused. Not sure what I
did with that one, but it was also the only frame I took of that view
specifically. Probably because memory cards were still small then, this
time I probably took 10 or 15 frames and picked the one I liked best.

The thing is though that is my second most viewed picture on Flickr over
the last 10 years.
