You may well be right. Please note, however, that those eight images are part of the first indented paragraph under the heading ThE lATEST cRiTERiON FOR PENTAX lENSES: SPEED. – follwed by the supersonic blurb. Then comes the second heading and the complete table. So my interpretation is typographically correct, although perhaps unduly optimistic in the near time frame. But the graphical people may have erred, of course. A different qwuestion is if it is likely that just those eight lenses will become DA* ones in due course. Re: Who can translate Swedish for us?
I think a macro would benefit of it. Usually a macro lens as a long (sometimes very long) focussing ramp (for obvious reasons). In this case, if SSM is supposed to be faster, then yes it would benefit a lot. My SMC 100/3.5 macro which I quite like is difficultto be used as a normal lens because of very slow focussing, simply because the time it takes to turn the whole focussing thing is huge. BTW I find an FA 50/1.4 should benefit of it, it also has quite a long focussing ramp. I've been looking at this one more time. They way it is written strongly indicate that it's not a typo. Re: Who can translate Swedish for us?
8? What are those 8 ? ;) They are in the 13 page brochure that's been mentioned before, I believe. PENTAX has developed a new lens range for the K10D: the DA* series. The new lenses work with particularly quick supersonic technology: Piezo electronics- based autofocus control ad- justs the focus of the lens at lightning speed. Additionally, the K10D recognises the “digital finger print” of the lens and knows the optimal setting values for exposure (MTF technology) for each DA* lens. The new supersonic lenses are – like the K10D – completely protected from humidity and dust. smc-DA 14mm/2,8 ED smc-DA 10–17mm f/3,5–4,5 ED smc-DA 12–24mm f/4,0 ED (IF) smc-DA 16–45mm f/4,0 ED smc-DA 18–55mm f/3,5–5,6 AL smc-DA 50–200mm f/4,0–5,6 ED smc-DFA 50 mm f/2,8 Macro smc-DFA 100mm f/2,8 Macro -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Tim Øsleby wrote: I've read it too. As all hands on articles about the camera it is enthusiastic. I don't think there is more in the article, nothing new, besides the 16 bit part. Could be a misunderstanding, could be right. Time will tell. And even if the 16-bit stuff is true now (I'm skeptical) it's a very recent change. And there's plenty of time before the camera's release for them to change it *back* to 12-bit :) -- Mark Roberts Photography Multimedia www.robertstech.com 412-687-2835 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

It was on the dpreview forum: Please see the K10D pentax catalogue at http://www.pentax.no/accounts/433774/File/Datablader/8690.pdf Looks like the 43mm LE is a goner, guess I am happy that I got mine in time :-) They are in the 13 page brochure that's been mentioned before, I believe. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
Re: Who can translate Swedish for us?
Wow. Looks like they are converting all the DA lense lineup to be USM? I better start saving up, or selling my non-USM DA lenses now! rg [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: It was on the dpreview forum: Please see the K10D pentax catalogue at http://www.pentax.no/accounts/433774/File/Datablader/8690.pdf Looks like the 43mm LE is a goner, guess I am happy that I got mine in time :-) They are in the 13 page brochure that's been mentioned before, I believe. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

On Sat, 16 Sep 2006, Bertil Holmberg wrote: Things are looking good for Pentax right now. Eight supersonic lenses coming up. Now, where is that medium format camera? Are you sure that those eight lenses displayed in the brochure are the upcoming USM lenses? Not by my interpretation. The USM lenses would be called DA*; and none of those displayed were called DA*. I believe the supersonic lenses description at the top do not refer to the lenses photos. They are displayed as part of the lens chart illustration. I don't think there is any official annoucement of USM lens yet. -- --Lawrence [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.vex.net/~lawrence -- --Tungsten T3 Enhanced DIA KeyboardNokia Ringtone Convertor-- -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
