I kept the Spottie, MZ-S, the wife's ZX-L and a couple of cheapo Russian
cameras, oh, and the Yashica Lynx 14 rangefinder. The MZ-S is beginning to
fell like an orphan since I got the Igital*Dist, which, BTW, should return
home tomorrow.

The reason I got the BG-10 for the MZ-S was mostly for the ability to use AA
batteries instead of the expensive CR-2's. Since I already have 4 or 5 sets
of NiMh for the Igital*Dist, and at least 4 chargers, I see no reason to
purchase the grip for it.

Don't worry, Bill. I'm not trying to make my head any bigger (literally, or
otherwise) than it already is. If nothing else, I've realized that I've gotta
use more of those little smiley faces like you when I write... but I hate
those damn smiley faces! (insert smiley face). I also can't take for granted
that, though I've met a few folks, not everyone knows me off list. You, and a
few others knew exactly where that was headed... but for others I can't assume
so much. Thus, I stay humbled.

But speaking of pentax gear (HAR), the grip that I mentioned in the previous
email to you just came in the mail about 20 minutes ago. I feel like I need it
because, call me snobby but, I've become quite dependent on that vertical
shutter button. But as for the ergonomics of it... not so impressive. For one,
I really do NOT like the "plasticky" feel of it. Feels kinda cheap (I hate to
badmouth Pentax, but it's the truth). But then, that's just me. I doesn't come
anywhere close to doing for me what the MZ-S grip does for me when attached.
Now THAT is a thing of beauty. Unlike, the BG-10, I can see myself taking this
one off and on during use, depending on the circumstances.

But then, I should also add that I haven't really USED it yet; I've just held
it. So keep that in mind as well.

What are others thinking of this grip so far?

I was wondering when someone will reply to that
original post "politely". I knew there was something
about that post when I got to the part about the "rule
of thirds" thing but didn't want to start anything by
saying something hence I just waited.

Good one!

Hi!

Jerome, actually the rules of thirds part made me
chuckle somewhat.
Then I saw the auctions and the e-mail address you
give in the
descriptions. Then I realized you forgot to put some
smileys or
letters in angle brackets, or else.

And then William let his tongue slip, well, way slip,
well, may I say
fall out...

Anyway, shake hands and behave, will you?

No. Just the one I use for PDML when I subscribe every now and then. Helps

I love it. But you guys knew that already from way back in August when we were
in NC playing with the pre-production model. I haven't said anything about it
cuz I haven't really used it much it (up to image 250 or so). And besides, you
guys have already talked about it a ton and I don't have anything new to add.
I've been browsing the post every now and then, however. Everyone seems happy.
Which is cool.

In general however, I'll say that this is my first digi-anything. And ditigal
is awesome. Little Kid. Candy Store. You know the rest.

I've kept the MZ-S for film purposes... but it's looking grim already. Once I
finish all to film I have in the house (may take a while)... I'm not really
feeling inclined to order more. But we'll see how it goes. Things change.
Newness wears off. Etc.

Catcha later, Bill.

I found it funny. And I started wishing for a camera that knew the rule of
thirds (although I am not sure I believe in that anyway. Hmm, maybe if I could
argue with it -- okay camera, but not in THIS situation!).

However, I don't find this follow up post very funny.

Whatever.
