Re: [PHP-DOC] Patch for documentation

2008-09-05 Thread Stefan Hinz

Hi Philip,

For the records, here's the log of today's discussion on #php.doc:

Interesting discussion and progress! There was a question about how to
generate the documentation and I feel the MySQL documentation should be
like all other topics in the manual, which is edited directly within the
phpdoc CVS module. Hannes made good points about why.

Just to confirm: That's what we'll do.

Regards,

Stefan

to make that happen?

bjori I think that would be the best course of action yeah
bjori and identify all the weird mappings
MC|Sun OK - Tony_Sun are you happy with that?
Tony_Sun Fine by me
bjori sample layout meaning the rendered html, then we can go
backwards to convert it into docbook/dyndocs

MC|Sun Right
MC|Sun OK, well if we have no other comments, I suggest we wrap this
up for the moment and work on that sample outline

bjori sounds good
MC|Sun Thanks everybody!
bjori you three!
MC|Sun In that case, time for lunch

Stefan

Err. Could we delay it for ~90minutes?
I have a meeting from 10:30 CET, which I fear could take an hour.. and
+30 just-in-case :)

Okay, so 12:30 CET (11:30 GMT) it shall be.

Sorry for the late heads up :(

Sorry for another mail. I'll be available tomorrow for the first 30
minutes only (need to pick up my son from school; it'll be his second
school day). Let's discuss the general procedures first; I'll leave it
to you guys to sort out the details afterwards.

We can schedule a follow-up meeting if it turns out there's more that
should be discussed.

Regarding your proper structure argument, I suggest to get together and

Who should take part on the PHP docs side?

Whoever wants to join the brainstorming. Including this list and/or
#php.doc (@EFNet)

There seem to be a zillion EFNet servers, see

[PHP-DOC] Re: Bug #21086 [Opn]: imagepolygon syntax description

2002-12-19 Thread Stefan Hinz
Pierre,

The word 'vertex' is correct, a polygon own a minimum amount of 3
verteces (which represent 3 carthesians coordonates, points).
A more 'userfriendly' word should be added, but this is correct.

Thanks for answering so soon. Of course, you're right. What I was to say
is that the PHP documentation should be as clear and userfriendly as PHP
itself.

 IS:
int imagepolygon ( int im, array points, int num_points, int col) ...
num_points is the total number of vertices.
 SHOULD BE:
int imagepolygon ( int im, array points, int num_points, int col) ...
num_points is the total number of points, divided by 2.
If this is not considered a bug, it's pretty misleading at least.
 HTH.

[PHP-DOC] DocBook Frontend

2001-08-07 Thread Stefan Hinz

Dear list,

sorry to bother you with this newbie question.

As I would like to join the team maintaining the German version of the
PHP manual later this year, I am trying to get familiar with DocBook.

I've been reading the DocBook manual (O'Reilly) and I've been checking
the DocBook Repository at sourceforge.net for info and all that XML.
What I haven't found yet is some sort of frontend that runs under
Windows to create DocBook files (thus sparing me the trouble to write
XML from scrap).

Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
