[pinhole-discussion] 6x9 camera conversion
Hello: I picked up an Agfa Ventura 69 folder. The lens is filthy and shutter is stiff and maybe worse than just that. I would like to get it off for two purposes - Pinhole 6x9 of course, and to battle the lens/shutter if possible. I am puzzled abotu how to remove it - any experience with this? It's supposedly the same as an Agfa Billy Record (What a weird name!)...Vario shutter, 105 mm f/6.3 Agnar lens. Thank you Murray

- Original Message - From: Wally Wolfgang Thoma-Schuermans th...@pandora.be Very interesting. I have a Lubitel myself (bought in a second hand shop in Prague for 10 USD) that I wanted to use for serious 6x6 work, but it leaks light like hell, so why not transform it. Can you give me details (how to open the lens) etc. Can I still use the shutter? greetings, Taco Taco, It is actually very easy, the shutter/lens assembly come off by removing the lock nut at the rear and accessed thru the inside of the camera, use a screwdriver to turn the nut, once the assembly is off the camera, unscrew the very front of the lens, then you'll see another small lens also part of the front lens elements, this one is removed by removing a C clip. At the rear of the shutter there is another C clip that allow you to remove the rear lens element. I mount the new aperture in place of the rear element, this place the ZP, etc. 65mm or so from the film plane. I first mount the ZP on a plastic circle that fits snugly on the rear of the shutter, I usually use plastic from one of those 35mm canister's cap. Recently I have decided I will not use this cameras with their original glass, so I being making a hole in the center of the glass rear element and mount the aperture there. Guillermo

For ZP and Sieve, a shutter is almost a must (it is for me anyway) and you can still use the shutter of the Lubitel. I haven't used a P67. Very interesting. Re: Re[2]: [pinhole-discussion] Zone plates pinhole sieves
i'm not very handy, but the shutter in the Lubitel pops right off (from the inside). i then punched a hole in a piece of shim-stock (any auto parts store-very cheap), glued the zone plate to that, then glued the shimstock to the shutter housing. all together it took about15 minutes. - Original Message - From: Mark Interrante m...@interwalk.com To: pinhole-discussion@p at ??? How hard was it to modify the libitel? Looks like there are dozens on ebay. Mark

We're trying to decide whether to get a zone plate and pinhole sieve for our P67 with a bodycap mount, or butcher an old TLR (Lubitel etc?) to get a good viewfinder without having to fit a lens for aiming. Comments welcome from anyone with experience in this line. Hi Chris, I think you can see they are greatly appreciated by other photographers. In fact we reckon they are the best lensless work we've seen. The technique and the vision match beautifully. You don't say anything about hardware, but I guess from the quality and square format you're using some kind of 6 x 6. It's nice to know they are appreciated by fellow photographers. Best, Chris
